PNE 1-0 up
Re: Todays Football
Good goal. They have played well up to now.
Re: Todays Football
Meslier let it go through his hands

he must hate playing PNE, wasn't he sent off last season ?

To date Leeds United's away form hasn't been great.

Good goal but poor goalkeeping. Hinchcliffe has described it as one of the goals of the season.

Aren't some footballers thick. Brady fouled when Preston had Leeds in a bit of trouble.

Got quite lively. Would be no surprise to see a red card at some point.

Re: Todays Football
Hull ahead 1-0 at HT at (Frank Lampard's) Coventry.
Since the start of November Hull have W0 D2 L5 so, if Hull stay ahead, that would be a bit of a shocker for Frank Lampard's Coventry.

Re: Todays Football
I don't know why we can't score plenty of goals like the Preston one.
It's quite easy. Just cross the ball along the floor early.
If a defender gets there first he can only clear it for a corner or throw in.
Let's hope Scotty has been watching.

Has he been drinking "Red Bull"ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2024 1:34 pmAmazing. I thought what had to be a second yellow could have been a straight red. How he got nothing is beyond me.
Now taken Whiteman off.

Re: Todays Football
Coventry level against Hull Scott Twine on as a sub to give Bristol City the lead against QPR.

Twine goal:
QPR gave away a silly free kick outside the box, Brizzle made a sub to bring Twine on to take it- he did his job very well.

Re: Todays Football
Sitting on a lead isn’t a great idea when your defenders aren’t upto it
Re: Todays Football
Only a point though.
Re: Todays Football
Super effort from PNE. Only 1 pt for Leeds, so that is a good result for us.
Re: Todays Football
Pity but the main thing is they didn't win.
North End defended valiantly but DL have so many attacking options.

Re: Todays Football
If Leeds do have a weak link it's definitely in defence and it's something they currently can't improve with the players they have.
Re: Todays Football
Two very poor teams. “IF” Leeds finish above us I will be astounded !
Re: Todays Football
Interesting one as they’ve conceded fewer chances this season than we have. The only team that have conceded less. I’d say their issue is the keeper.

I don't think Leeds win many games away and win more or less every home game.
Today has continued that form.

Re: Todays Football
Nine wins in eleven at home - drew against Portsmouth on opening day of the season and lost against us. Away they've won three, drawn five and lost two.
They are top of the league based on home results but we are top on away results.

Leeds issue is definitely the keeper and I’m pretty surprised they haven’t looked to upgrade him.

I honestly believe I've played in pub teams with better dead ball players than those taking corners for Burnley.

Prepare to be astounded.
Leeds WILL finish above us, no question. Why? Because they find a way to get something out of games. They get a point when they are looking at none, they get all three when they are looking at just one.
They concede more than us, that’s true, but they also score more than us, and that will continue.

Re: Todays Football
There's definitely something in this. Teams who go up always seem to have the knack of getting something out of games when all seems lost. We've done it ourselves, particularly in Kompany's promotion season and although we've also done it already this season, for teams who make a habit of it, it often makes the difference between going up and not.bobinho wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2024 3:28 pmPrepare to be astounded.
