Re: Big Win
That was about effort and determination something that wasn't their particularly in the first half, amazing turn around tbh.

Parker deserves huge credit for the substitutions, which were absolutely spot on today.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2024 5:02 pmThat was about effort and determination something that wasn't their particularly in the first half, amazing turn around tbh.

Laurent seems a really good signing, things started happening when he came on.

Where did that come from?
Much more like it second half

Re: Big Win
Bloody hell!
After a sombre first 50 minutes (performance, score, two injuries) the East Anglian sky was ripped apart by a bolt of lightning from 30 yards.
So many positives in the second-half.
Cojones? Si, senor.

Haven’t gone looked back at the match day thread but I’m going to hazard a guess he was slagged off for bringing Laurent on.fidelcastro wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2024 5:04 pmParker deserves huge credit for the substitutions, which were absolutely spot on today.
Great subs. Thought Laurent was brilliant and that shot by flemming was an absolute belter.
Much improved second half.
Genuinely do think Trafford is showing exactly why we paid the fee we did for him. He was mismanaged by Kompany last year, but he is still very young for a goalie and is starting to look like the kind of keeper you will see taking over Pickford in goal for England.

Re Laurent he was superb v Stoke station A too
A great performance against a useful Norwich team. Let's hope Steve's injury isn't too serious although squad depth with Egan came up trumps

Re: Big Win
First half shouldnt have come out like that no matter who is on the field
Second half much better, two sublime goals and a handful of decent saves by Trafford. Got a bit scrappy in the end though.
Altogether, it's clearly meant a lot to the players to get that win and I think they'll all be learning from today.

I think so as well. Only the second loss at home for them in 13 months, and we really deserved it I thought

After Rovers away we have a relatively comfortable run in of 21 games left.

Re: Big Win
Quite agree about Trafford. I can only hope we don’t let him go for a silly fee, only to see whoever takes him from us make an absolute mint.Indecisive wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2024 5:08 pmHaven’t gone looked back at the match day thread but I’m going to hazard a guess he was slagged off for bringing Laurent on.

Re: Big Win
Massive win, great character by the team today. Can’t fault the togetherness and work rate of them.
Re: Big Win
We showed balls today. Conceding early against a team that scores a lot is not part of our scenario.
Norwich should have finished us off but played deep after the break and then, as it often happens, a moment of genius turns things round.
Huge goal for Zian. Let's hope it gets his season going.

Conceding a goal inside 2 minutes can take the wind out of the sails. Like a boxer being put on the seat of his pants inside the first round.ElectroClaret wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2024 5:10 pmBit of a mystery why it takes us so long to get going

Re: Big Win
There has got to be something about the spirit of a team that can win in the circumstances we won today. Playing against a side with a great home record, going behind so early we were unable to find any fluency in a first half we lost a key defender early on. Further disruptions followed in the second half but still we found class finishes to win the game.
Re: Big Win
They have drawn at home against Seff Utd, Leeds and Middlesbrough. Beat Watford 4-1.warksclaret wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2024 5:42 pmNorwich have a great home record and will be a tough game for the top teams when they go there

Re: Big Win
As soon as that first minute goal went in I had the rest of the game mapped out in my head. We'd have a lot of the ball and struggle to do anything with it, before conceding another on the break.
How wrong I was. They showed real determination in that second half, helped by a moment or two of real quality. And at a tough place to visit too. The fans and players will hopefully take a lot from that win.

Re: Big Win
This must be the strangest Burnley team I've ever seen.
We look absolutely dreadful going forwards consistently and yet we continue to pull results out of the bag. It's bizarre.

Re: Big Win
Like KRBFC said the other day I was actually excited when we went a goal down early. It meant we had to attack rather than sit back. It took us a while to get into that stride but we got there. Good result and a big three points but still playing well within ourselves.

Weirdly I see this too, who’d have thought we’d make that comparison when we signed him.gandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2024 7:05 pmI really like him as a player. He reminds me a bit of Sander Berge
Seemed an odd sub to me today, in fact at the time I was fuming (rate Laurent highly but it felt negative). Fair play to Scottie, Laurent absolutely grabbed our team and the match by the scruff of the neck.

Exactly what we needed,I too thought it was an odd sub with Fleming on the bench but he got it spot on.Doesnt shirk a challenge.jedi_master wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2024 7:47 pmWeirdly I see this too, who’d have thought we’d make that comparison when we signed him.
