Anthony has possibly had his worse performance so far. Need more pace in our play.

This is a very poor first half
I don’t think the Stoke keeper has had a shot to save and our shooting is very poor
We need the energy of Hannibal asap and the strength of Foster now and not on the 89th minute

The price of success, I suppose. I started following in 2009, so I've gotten to see mostly the cream. Its easy to get spoilt.

We seem to look a bit lethargic when Hannibal isn't playing.
For me, Luca would be better hugging the touchline and getting to the byline for cutbacks instead of trying to cut infield.

We have been too slow all season against the teams that put everyone behind the ball. Up the tempo and move them round and we will find spaces. It isn't rocket science.

Leeds with 66% possession and just 2 shots, facing a similar issue to us so far. We’ve got some good options on the bench here and I’d like to see Flemming and Foster introduced before too long.

Team talk at half time needs to be about basics.
Do the basics right.
Show composure.
Make better decisions.
Save the worldies for when we are 2 or 3 up.

How high is Brownhill playing? My worry with the changes to the lineup was whether or not it would nullify his press and attacking presence... I assume its Sarmiento in the 10 with two holders?

I think this game shows that the last 3 or so games is the direction we need to keep going in with regards starting 11 and that maybe just maybe the likes of Koleosho/Jay Rod and Pires are way below what's needed. Shining lights so far imho are Sarmiento/Egan-Riley............looks to me like Brownhill would have benefited from a rest today too with Saturday in mind.

Doesn't make much difference as Jay has hardly had a touch of the ball
Which happens to whoever plays a lonely role up front in most games

Jay non existent. Brownhill playing deeper is less effective. Koleosho wasteful. Piers not good enough
Need Foster or Flemming fir Jay
Humph for Pires
Hannibal for Koleosho with Anthony moving to right
That will give us a chance. Get em on now and let the Rovers game sort itself out

Just watching the highlights and some nice moves ended by rubbish long distance shots. Need to be making better decisions and taking higher percetage shots.
Also how was Roberts effort that deflected over the bar not count as on target?

Brownhill seems to be playing more as a central midfielder with Sarimento further up
Problem is he is dropping back or wide to try and get hold of the ball with Jay left totally exposed at the top

Stoke aren't putting everyone behind the ball, we are allowing them to get back behind the ball by constantly playing negative sideways and backwards for no reason when an attack is on but ignored

So much entitlement in the stands nowadays. Moaning and groaning and negative atmospheres literally every game this season. No surprise our away form is better when we drag the players down every home game
Not the reason why we’re better away from home is because the home team tends to attack more ,and having seeing a cracking display against Sheff Utd fans would have expected a decent performance today ,but we’ve gone back to like we were playing 5 or 6 weeks ago.The commentators on Sky are pretty neutral and they’re telling it as it is -negative predictable and boring.

Frustrating first half despite playing some good football at times.
One of challenges this squad has is that IMO Brownhill, Sarmiento, Flemming and Hannibal all play their best football behind the striker (in different ways) but we can only play one of them in that position so we either have to play the others out of position or leave them out.
Id look to get Foster on quickly to try and make something happen and see where we are around 65 mins and if we've not scored then get Flemming alongside him

This is the performance I expected when I saw the line up.Stoke have defended with ease without the need for any game management tactics.I think this will come in the second half.If change is not made at h/t I can't see us scoring,I just hope Stoke don't nick one

Think Sarmiento can be just as effective coming in from wide to be honest but yeah agree in general. I’d be putting Sarmiento on the left, Anthony right and Flemming with Foster through the middle.

We haven't always been good in the 37 years I have been watching Burnley, but we have always tried to win and be creative/work the opposition keeper.
This brand of football, despite having a huge financial advantage over everyone in the division is shockingly bad.
The average first on target for us this season will be something like 66 minutes. It's pathetic.
That's why the fans are like they are.

This is my only concern with Parker... we don't have the right kind of players for 2 holding midfielders... Laurent is not good enough on the ball, Brownhill is nullified... Perhaps Hanibal can play in that position. As mentioned by many, might be worth letting the handbrake off and playing two tens in either Brownhill & Sarmiento or Brownhill & Flemming.

Not every season is going to be like Kompany’s first. Moaning at the players from the stands at 0-0 isn’t going to improve our chances of winning.
There’s a difference in wanting a shot or 2 on target to demanding a VK season.

We’re doing the job of their defence for them! Passing it out to midfield from their box when we’re loaded with players up there is madness.
