I’ve seen the odd bit on Tella with Bayer, how involved is he (I know he’s had some game time, but not how much)? I do get the impression he adores Ash.
24/25
20 appearances
9 starts: only 4 in league, but has started last 3
3 assists, 1 goal
Gets a run out most games though, including Champions League

Got a horrible feeling Sheffield utd will really strengthen this window with some astute signings, while we bring in Barnes and loan a few out. Really hope I'm wrong

They have a far weaker squad than we do, to begin with. The difference in both our benches a week ago was stark.

Strange one for me that. He has scored goals at this level but he was distinctly unimpressive in his two games against us recently, nowhere near Premier League level in my opinion but who am I to argue with Ruud on strikers!

Vincent Kompany was useless for us in the Premier League but is apparently doing the business at Bayern Munich. Horses for courses maybe?
Latte Lath has proven he is a finisher when presented with the chances and that may occur more often when playing for Leicester in the PL.

Not really. You'd imagine Wilder would be all over somebody like Barnes. I've noticed him mentioning how young his team is in some of the post match interviews this season.

Already Ash looks a clever signing by SP lifting morale and adding a proven goal threat.I can totally see why Sheffield United wanted him.

That's just what we need, another 35 years-old striker just back from injury who wasn't even prolific two years ago in a team that created and scored for fun.
They must be hanging on my every word

I would have thought it far more likely that Wilder would want to bring McBurnie back into the fold (a player that was the focus of several posters on here) but let’s just see how it all pans out.

Very confident you’ll be wrong there (about us, not not Sheffield United - they’ll strengthen too).

I’m delighted Barnes is back, but would also have loved McBurnie.
He’d add some height, physicality, experience and will obviously have a few more years left than Ash. If Wilder tempts him back, that’ll be a good signing for them.

Imagine Hannibal,Barnes and McBurnie all in attack with Kevin Ball and Barton in midfield.Sky would be giving out warnings before the game for our more fragile fans.

Sorry AD, nothing at all. In fact, I can’t remember the last time I was given any info on a signing
Reasons:
- Pace will know this is his best chance of promotion. Next year it’ll be much tougher. His role is to protect and grow other’s investments which will be very difficult without an immediate return. I don’t think he’s daft; he’ll know we sold too much attacking talent in the summer and are now reaping the consequences. I think he’ll want to put that right.
- We’ve just signed Sonne. A position that will become urgent in summer but not immediately with Roberts, Sambo as cover and Humphreys able to play there too. I very much doubt we’d have spent on that position if we didn’t have money and it was going to hinder plans to strengthen in attacking positions.

I hope so. He would be brilliant.
He or Guiu as a very different option and for different reasons would be my top choices.

Any chance we can recall Obafemi plus Andre Gray not being kept on by Plymouth so available on a free
Cheeky bid for Sam Vokes ?

I’m sure there would be room for The Beddlington Terrier in between Ball and Barton and play Angus ,Miller Blant and Elder at the back with Blacklaw in the nets

No surprise - only on a short term contract and apart from two superb goals in one game he’s struggled for game time and goals

He can't run anymore which was basically his strongest asset. Probably time to retire

Sounds a reasonable idea but Taylor's wages would be a stumbling block
Pires will be 24 in March so nobody can accuse him of being a youngster learning the league - he does have good and bad points to his game
And he signed a 4 year deal last summer so he should be ready now for this level never mind the Prem

Sky reporting Ipswich looking at Ben Doak on a permanent deal.
Could be a bad window for Boro if they also lose Latte Lath.
