I went during the winter, absolutely freezing, so wrap up warm if you go at this time of year! Great little city with some brilliant bars. Well worth a walk up to the castle.

A great city lots to see and most of it can be done on foot, although I did use the little red tour bus to visit the Slavin WAr Memorial.

We visited from a Danube Cruise ... Fascinating city ... don't trip over Cumil climbing out of the sewers though

Our Friends were there in October and said the weather was very pleasant (again from a Cruise on the Danube)

Spent plenty of daytime walking around in shorts & thin jacket, needed something warmer at night though.

Good city, very small though. Easily get round on foot. Very pretty, very welcoming. Good choice

Was there a few years ago for a stag do. Nice city. Spent 3 days drinking around the old town. You can't go far wrong around there. Don't worry, think we were the only stag do we came across. Probably annoyed a few of the locals.

Was there 2 years ago on a day out from Czechia, arrived by train in the morning and departed by bus in the evening.

Packed a lot into the day, walking and making use of the tourist road train up to the Castle. Lovely City, we had really good weather early August and must go again and stay over.

It's quite small and I suspect 3 nights will cover everything on offer.

Went on a stag do to Bratislava in September,couple of years since, The weather was good with plenty of bars Cafes and restaurants
The only gripe was you always get a big head on the pint of beer so get quite a bit under a pint but it was reasonably priced

If you have a week you can visit 3 of Europe's best cities. Why not fly to Budapest and then take the train/boat to Bratislava and then the train to Vienna. Fly back from Vienna. Thank me later.

Have been 3 times to Bratislava- loved it.

Bit of a quirky vibe but in a good way!

The medieval Old Town is good for just wandering around the streets and there's some great inexpensive pubs/bars, e.g. Bar 17, Cerny Pes, Bernards, Vanessa's, KGB (Google for location but all within easy reach)

Generally the more innocuous a place looks from the outside the cheaper/ more authentic it will be but there are the generic 'Irish' and 'Scottish' bars' if you like that kind of thing.

Lots to see and do if you want a bit of culture, e.g. The Castle, Blue Church, St Michaels church, Slavin war memorial, Devin Castle, Old Town hall museum, Presidents Palace, walking tours etc

As mentioned in an earlier post only about an hour on the train to Vienna if you fancy a day trip or you can get to Brno in Czech Republic in about 90 mins.

Some restaurants we liked were Prasna Basta, Bratislavsky Mestivsky Pivovar but our favourite was Zeleny Rodriguez (opposite Castle Brewery). Pilsner Urquell bar did good bar type meals

I went in January 2019 with my wife, who was pregnant at the time.
It's a small city and you could see and do everything in two days. I recommend the devin castle, which is an hour bus ride out of bratislava. We also saw a classical music show which was excellent, and very cheap.
The food and drink are all well priced and the cuisine was basically the same as what I've seen in the Czech Republic.
Public transport was excellent. It worked in tandem with Google maps and was affordable.
We did a day trip to vienna. Off the top of my head it was about 15 euros there and back and public transport for the day in vienna.
We wanted to go to Brno, but it was too much for my Mrs.
With my daughter being born in the July, and Covid happening the following year, it was my last foreign trip for 3 and half years until I went to Brussels in September 2022 so Bratislava has a good and bad place in my memory for city breaks but I did enjoy it greatly

I went for 3 nights and then got a ferry down the Danube and stayed in Vienna for a few more nights. Went in October and it was t-shirt and jeans wether during the day.

Enjoyed the ice hockey, I only have a vague idea of the rules but was good fun and a great atmosphere. I just got tickets online https://www.hcslovan.sk/sk/

There were plenty of others but can't remember the names. Everywhere was friendly and pretty cheap so just pop into whereever looks decent.

If you've not been to Vienna then it is well worth a day trip, very impressive city.
