Re: Maths question
Haha!
WTAF!
Think it needs the opposite length before we can sin it.
Isn't life great when we have 3 points in the bag before HT.

Re: Maths question
Taking the p1ss off course.
The cross just seems to be traveling parallel to the goal, then somehow Flemming sends perfectly 90 degrees on target.

Re: Maths question
Get me the angle, and I'll tell you the active power, apparent power & reactive power of our play in the final third...

Re: Maths question
It is, he's drawn the right angle sign in it so that means it is

Is hypotenuse another signing we just made from Belgium that’s on the train to Dundee?CombatClaret wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2025 9:03 pmCalculate the hypotenuse of this right-angle triangle.

Re: Maths question
In yards (I'm old school!) I estimate a is 14 and b is 22 (using penalty area dimensions). That means the hypotenuse is 26 yards.
I'm sure Brownhill, being a top footballer, did this calculation in his head in order to decide if a shot at goal along the hypotenuse was the best option or whether a pass to Flemming (along b) would be more likely to yield a goal. I'm sure all footballers are taught Pythagoras's Theorem. Clearly Burnley's maths coach (perhaps he replaced the ineffective dead ball coach) deserves a lot of credit and I'm surprised that the Sky cameras didn't linger on his mush after the goal.

Reminds me of a constipated maths teacher who always used to work it out with logs

Re: Maths question
a^2 + b^2 = c^2
roughly 15^2 + 25^2 = c^2
So around 29 yards.

it’s not a sin to tan Argyle

I was actually thinking watching the replays "that's a perfect right angle".
