A City fan here in Melbourne, who actually runs their supporters club. Hes just posted this on Facebook!!
“Our board has let Pep down. How can a team that dominated the last decade fall off like this?
All we needed last summer was a proper defensive midfielder to cover for Rodri. Now, 22 days into the January window, and still no serious DM linked. Unacceptable!”

Unfortunately I know the bloke. He’s originally from Bury. He’s supported them 40+ years.

They had a defensive midfielder as cover called Kalvin Phillips but they sent him out on loan and Pep couldn't get the best out of him, that's on him.

Phillips is a legend in his own head.City may wonder why there was little competition in signing him.Hes hardly pulled up trees at Ipswich.

Actually, the ref playing 49 minutes of injury time saved them at Wembley against the mighty Gillingham.

To be honest, after reading some of the threads on here this season, including the one about getting rid of our manger when we were second or third in the table, and also the woeful match day thread, we have no right whatsoever to have a go at other fans when they too come out with utter shite.

First sign of adversity and Pep gets the cheque book out again. Massively overrated as a manager.

Maybe they should bring Jim and Jeff Whitley out of retirement?

The match day thread is just nuts it really is. Overreaction to every misplaced pass , Ref is always useless / homer / anti Burnley (even though recent matches would support that last bit!) then if we score we're going to win the league etc etc. It's kind of compelling reading in it's own way.
However City fans have become so entitled it's ridiculous and so good to see them "struggling"

There was someone complaining on twitter after the 5 nil away win at Plymouth.
"First half good. Second half worrying again. I'm not talking about not scoring goals either."
All clubs have these fans

Can someone explain why Sky Sports have had to apologise for this comment on Soccer Saturday?
“They seem to be the only team who can spend money and they’ve got 115 [charges] over their head. These players they’ve brought in are certainly for now and the future. They’re trying to build for the future. They made a mistake by not buying in the summer. If there’s players available they will go and get them, even if they have to pay over the top, they don’t care. Man City make up their own rules”

Because saying they make up their own rules is, potentially, slanderous, especially since they are currently defending themselves against those 115 charges.

But it’s a fact that they’re in a league of their own when it comes to spending. They spend what they want to get whoever they want. Every other club will have a set budget, and try not to break it. City just spend what they want, therefore they play by their own rules.

I think that since the most recent change of Chelsea ownership, Chelsea are probably the higher spenders.

But they are, and have been, apparently, in compliance with the rules since the dates in the 115 charges. So they are not making their own rules despite having a ridiculous amount of money at their disposal. I'm sure they have a budget, even if it is not like ours.
