A loss for our heart, however, a good move for Jay. Eternal legend in Burnley. We can only send him off, again and wish him well.

Fantastic player for us, gave everything to the cause. I hope he does well at Wrexham. Thanks for the memories Jay. “You’ll always be a claret”.

Great pro, time is right to drop a division if he wants to keep playing.

Wishing Jay the very best-absolute top lad and pro. I got excited when we re-signed him in 2019, and for 3 seasons showed us he was still an intelligent top striker. For me though he proved in the second half of Kompany's promotion season that his best days were firmly behind him. He was really exposed in Kompany's first season in the PL with just 2 goals, and amazingly he was with us again at the start of the current season. You have to admit that if you were a footballer wanting an attractive new contract you would employ Jay's agent

Best of luck to JayRod.
Think I’m right in remembering a goal he scored against Forest when he curled it into the top corner in our Judas promotion season. Pure class at a then tender age.
True Claret legend.

What a great pro he’s been . Up until this season I still thought he was very useful , his experience , movement and touch of class , pen taking etc was all good . However his pace ( which was never great ) has more or less left him , though if Wrexham play him as a proper no 9 he could well bag 6/7 goals in div 1 .

A glance at the League One table shows there’s not much difference between Leagues 1 and 2. Wrexham and Stockport promoted last season sitting in 3rd and 4th places and every chance of Championship football next season.

Jay’s post on Twitter from today:
It’s been a whirlwind few days but now I have had a moment to rest and reflect, I just want to say a massive thank you to the fans and Burnley FC who have been behind me from the very start. From 10 years old I have so many memories training down at gawthorpe Tuesday and Thursday nights in the school of excellence, only dreaming of being able to represent my home town even just once. In 310 appearances from scoring my 1st professional goal against Fulham to being captain against reading most recently, there have been so many memories that I will look back fondly on with pride. I really have lived a burnley lads dream and am extremely proud of being a claret and always will be. I have so many people, players, managers and staff to thank throughout my journey with burnley fc and I’ve been lucky enough to have made great friends along the way which I’m extremely grateful for.
Now I am at the start of my new journey with Wrexham AFC. I am so excited to be here, and have been welcomed with open arms from everyone involved and really appreciate it. I will continue to give 100% always and hopefully we can both achieve what we are striving for.
Wishing you nothing but happiness and success for the future, I will always be in support and will be back at the turf one day with a ‘benni n hot’ in hand watching the clarets.
It’s a bye for now but will see you soon.
All my Love
