Set Pieces
We've scored 1 set piece all season,
Dara O'Shea Vs Luton.
We must be the only team who consistently use away swinging corners.

Re: Set Pieces
O shea would have notched probably 4 or 5 this seasonas hes much lore of a threat - our current CBs are not much of a threat in the opposition box. Those goals likely to be useful ones in tight games. Exactly why we shouldn't have sold him (and why Parker was obviously furious about him going)

Re: Set Pieces
Agree that we need to improve this aspect of our play. It’d be nice to at least have this string to our bow going forward.
We are good at defending them tho, so our maligned set piece coach deserves some credit.

We defend everything else well, more to do with that I would suggest.

Re: Set Pieces
Genuinely can’t remember the last time I got excited about an attacking set piece, we’re absolutely shocking at them.

Anyone who scores from a corner gets sold, so be careful what you wish for.HuncoatClaret wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 5:45 pmWe've scored 1 set piece all season,

We look more threatening from their goalkicks than from our own corners.

Re: Set Pieces
I’d like to know how many of our corners end up at Trafford - most obviously but would good to know exactly.
There’s an extra 5-10 points available before the end of the season if we get this right - whilst they have slightly improved of late they are still pitiful.

Re: Set Pieces
I always get excited about an attacking set piece. What else is there to get excited about? Occasionally we even put the ball into the box, though I suspect Parker secretly prefers the series of short passes that finishes up at Trafford.Milltown1882 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 7:34 pmGenuinely can’t remember the last time I got excited about an attacking set piece, we’re absolutely shocking at them.
How I enjoyed Roberts' series of long throws against Leeds, where as the throw-ins got nearer and nearer to the goalline, he had to throw it further and further to get it back to Egan-Riley in his own half.

I had a thread on this weeks ago. Nothing new

I would guess we’re up to well over 100+ corners/free kicks without even creating a chance.Milltown1882 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 7:34 pmGenuinely can’t remember the last time I got excited about an attacking set piece, we’re absolutely shocking at them.
How on earth that set piece coach is still in a job baffles me

Re: Set Pieces
I just can't fathom how CJ and Max are so good in our area, defending them, and so poor in theirs, attacking them. and it isn't the delivery.
Re: Set Pieces
I was told he is doing a good job in defence so should dismiss the issuepauliopaulio wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2025 8:47 amI would guess we’re up to well over 100+ corners/free kicks without even creating a chance.
