Re: Tresor
What we know for a fact is:-
- He's somewhat match fit (although we don't know how match fit he actually is)
- He wanted to move to Ajax in the summer but it didn't occur.
- He was played against Reading, coming off the bench in the 87th minute and playing extra time.
- He was not selected in the squad for the Sunderland game.
Everything else, such as illness, injury, not wanting to play for Burnley, refusing to play for U21s, etc. is nothing but pure conjecture and should be assessed as nothing else. All this "it's clear he's not bothered" and "AP basically said" is speculative at best.

Re: Tresor
Is he injured again? Just read the latest Burnley express article with Parker talking about getting Benson up to speed.
At the bottom it suggests Tresor is sidelined again. Hadn't heard that one.

I'd love to see a list of all the recent issues that have sidelined him.
He's making Darren Anderton look reliable (there's one for the kids).

I'd like to think that at some point we will find out the true story.
Our record signing and such a big star in Belgium, but we never get to see him, it's so odd.

Personally my patience is wearing thin. Yes I'm only a humble supporter, and I don't expect to hear his full medical history, but I think at least a general explanation as to his ever seeming absence wouldn't go a miss. He's gone from being one of a front 3 for the Belgian national team, to somebody his club manager seemingly doesn't even want to mention...All very bizarre.

He’s gonna be great!
Re: Tresor
If he’s not moved on today, he’s surely got to be dropped from the 25 man squad for the remainder of the season.
Pointless him being named if he’s unable or unwilling to play a part.

is there some appearance related payment that we have to make when he plays in the league? Maybe that’s why he only gets a game in the FA Cup.

Re: Tresor
It looks like we’re stuck with him for a while longer. He’s clearly nowhere near good enough for English football so until we can get someone to take him off our hands there’s not much we can do.

From his brief cameo, that wouldn’t be my assessment.

How? We can't do any more loans to European clubs now, and no club in Turkey could afford to take him on a permanent.Milltown1882 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 03, 2025 10:44 pmHopefully he gets a deal in Turkey before their window closes. Absolute waste of a wage.

Re: Tresor
Why can’t we loan him? We still have the capacity to loan another player out where windows are open as has been explained about 60 times on here today.
Re: Tresor
As said above, very strange his only appearance this season was in the FA Cup.
I believe deep down that Tresor isn’t being allowed to play by Pace because he doesn’t want to fork out more money in add ons. Pace went to a fan evening and tried to save face by shifting the blame on to Mike.
He’s clearly been fit enough to be involved for a long time, Parker said he was weeks away in September. Then recently what was Parker’s excuse? A bruised toe? That was weeks ago. Tresor made a difference off the bench in the cup then 6 days later he isn’t even on the bench for the league game?
Parker has been told not to play him and has strung us along for months hoping he’d be gone in January.
Why would multiple clubs be willing to take him the summer window if he wasn’t going to be fit until January? Makes no sense.
Why would Mike refuse to play in the league games but suddenly he’s happy to play in an FA Cup game with the second string side?

Re: Tresor
That doesn't make sense to me. Why would Pace not want to pay the extra money for add ons when we're crying out for someone who can unlock defences? Surely we're talking about, what, a couple of million pounds or so? Is he that bad that we'd rather not play him but instead keep paying him his wage and have him take up a spot in our squad instead? He's made 16 league appearances so far for us, doesn't that sound like rather a strange number to include in an add on clause - we have to pay extra as soon as he plays 17 league games? Rather a random number don't you think.KRBFC wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 1:49 amAs said above, very strange his only appearance this season was in the FA Cup.

Also you say he’s clearly been fit enough to be involved for a long time - if so, why has there been absolutely zero interest in him this transfer window? Surely his agent would have been trying to flog him to all and sundry if he was fit.
I'm with you in not buying the narrative that he's unhappy and is refusing to play - like you say, why would he have played in the cup game if that was the case. Also for those who were saying he looked disinterested in that game, there were at least four occasions when he was in space with his arm raised asking for the ball to be played to him - that doesn't look like someone who isn't interested, in fact I would say it's the complete opposite.
My own theory (based on nothing but pure speculation) is that he still hasn't got over whatever illness he had and it is taking a lot longer than anticipated to clear up. You could see from the Reading game, he made a couple of sprints down the wing and the next thing he was bent over double trying to catch his breath and after that he could barely run. You could say that's down to a lack on match fitness but surely any professional athlete should be able to run more that that without looking they're about to keel over. The fact that he's not been seen in the recent training videos may be because he is still trying to build up his stamina before he can train fully with the team. As I said, that's just my theory though.

Re: Tresor
I tend to agree, but the one thing that baffles me is he was set to go to Ajax in the last window. He presumably had the same problems then as now e.g we knew about the illness. It's a really strange one. Perhaps something has come to light since then regarding his health.Grimsdale wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 6:06 amThat doesn't make sense to me. The other thing is perhaps we have a deal in place with ajax that sees tresor go to Ajax in summer depending on certain criteria, and the young winger is part of the deal. Again all guesses
Re: Tresor
I just think he hasn’t been training well and hasn’t fit in with the rest of the group. I’d heard he had been struggling to arrive on time. As well, Parker has regularly spoken about having a group of men that will run through brick walls for him. Unfortunately I don’t think Tresor fits in that category. He’s even not training again now (injury or illness, not sure).

Yeah maybe who knows. I'm certainly not having a go at Tresor, I wish he was part of things even if a 15 min sub. But he's obviously not match ready whether that's been illness, injury, attitude or a combination of thoseclarets1978 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 8:14 amOr perhaps he got a new illness after the summer windowSurprised no one has considered that instead of throwing pelters at him without the facts
Re: Tresor
The same reason we haven’t bought a striker during January and the same reason almost every signing this season has been a loan deal with obligation to buy (if we go up)
Re: Tresor
Hannibal we have paid for. Flemming is an obligation regardless if we go up. Humphreys was reported an obligation regardless. Pires and Hountondji paid for. Sonne. Probably £35m there but otherwise accurate from you again.

I think it's quite likely that the issue is contractual, and that it doesn't allow Tresor to play in the Championship.

Re: Tresor
Given that Barnes wasted the entire Luton coaching staff in the tunnel a few years ago, then he is well equipped to deal with Mike if needs be.
