Fantastic from the club to have an episode based on a promising young player

So happy to see modern day heroes/legends (Corky is a legend to me) like Jack Cork still at the club, passing his wisdom on to the youth.

It's imperative that we keep that and have people in the backroom at the club who properly know what it means to represent Burnley Football Club.

Fantastic episode - really hoping that we get to see Baurress tomorrow!

Jack cork is the closest thing to dobo to me, didn’t think anyone would come close to dobo but Jack is a modern legend, the fact he retired a claret to

That was fantastic. Only 8 minutes again, but in some ways loved that more than the first chronicling the Rovers win because I’m really interested in the Academy.

It’s clear how highly the club rate Bauress. Hopefully he starts tomorrow and we get another good look.

Love to see how the club are focusing on the Academy. I’d far rather they spend any promotion money on investing in Gawthorpe, the Academy facilities and the coaches than a load of prima donna players.

I probably wouldn’t say that if we were getting beaten every week in the premier league but it’s a long time since we’ve had serious investment in infrastructure and I’d definitely prefer €18m in that than Tresor. Fingers crossed it’s an option Alan has at the end of the season.

In total agreement NC.

Just 1/10th, heck, 1/15th of the PL cash being injected into the academy would surely bear more fruits than signing a boatload of mercenary players? (and no, I'm not tarring all of last year's signings with that brush - but you get my point).

If we do end up promoted, I would rather go back down with the squad we have this season making the obligations permanent and just a couple of other signings rather than spending over 100m on a brand new team

Love the way they film the town surrounded by our wonderful nature. No idea of the technical nature but it's beautifully shot.

Jack Cork? Yes, a true Claret. The sort of man we want at our club bringing on our young lads.

Yes, indeed.
There seems, even in that short episode, a real togetherness on the training pitch.
(Yes I know we'd just beaten the Undead, so that helped ;) )
But still a great camaraderie on show.

And did I get a glimpse of Andy Farrell?

You can see Corky's new job has given him a big shot of confidence, there's quite a big difference in how he speaks in this, a lot calmer and less rushed. Great to see him being well involved

Yes. He’s in charge of the under-21s but you wouldn’t think so watching that.

Wonder if it’s just a case of Farrell not wanting to be on camera or him getting sidelined in favour of Cork?

What’s the impression from those that have seen the live games?

I was going to say this actually, he doesn’t seem toe to be one that wants all the limelight so he could’ve been quite happy to let Jack take it. He always does the post match interviews though.

Love that the club are employing these ex pros and club legends. Should help to instil the culture in the next generation.

I do get your point. I’d gladly throw it all in to the Academy. Wouldn’t bother me if we didn’t sign a single player if the club explained that was our strategy.

Our facilities are very good by all accounts, and the setting beautiful, but I think if the plan is to attract the very best young talent nationally and globally, there’s still a lot of investment needed. Leicester’s facilities for example are another level.

I was told something the other day about an academy coach paying for their own badges. I might’ve mistaken that, or it might be wrong, but when Alan says he wants elite coaches that’d be something else I’d be investing in - getting our own trained to the highest possible level.

I’d love to see a very small stadium for the women’s / u21’s / tournaments they put on and I’d be putting every possible sporting and leisure type facility in there possible to make it really stand out to young talent.

I also think we need to consider education / accommodation facilities - more of a campus feel if we’re going to carry on casting our net wider for talent.

While I’m being picky, the media centre could do with an upgrade too. Not that we have a lot of media interest at the moment but there’s an image to uphold.

I agree with what they said about us needing, and being well placed, to offer a pathway to the first team. That will always be the biggest priority for players and their families but absolute world class facilities will help too. Needs continual investment and I suspect it would produce more loyal players than our last spree bolstering the coffers of European clubs.

Farrell always does the after match interview. I think having Jack Cork on there just fitted the narrative.

Could it be that as part of corks badges he has to lead a game maybe?

It was just part of the story having cork there, i.e Bauress looking up to him.
