What a fickle lot we are and what a difference one game can make. Sarmiento vying for MotM which is amazing after some of the comments on the thread about him. Not having a go at anyone here but it just goes to show that there's a good player when played in the right position.

"The ultimate flatter to deceive player. Takes too many touches, makes 0 penetrative runs off the ball, doesn't create anything with his passing or crossing, can't really beat men. Send him back and get someone in that's useful."

"Mr invisible. It's like playing with 10 men when he's on the pitch."

"Cut our losses and end his loan. Not good enough."

"Nowt to do with position. He’s not a good enough footballer. Pretty simple. Stealing a living."

"I don’t know where he is on loan from, but he needs to go back as soon as possible. I had totally forgotten he was in team until I saw him standing near the ball at a free kick to us at the beginning of the second half. What a waste of space!"

"I hope that's the last we see of him.....very poor."

Someone on the match thread said he flatters to deceive - even though he was playing well! I guess if some people doesn't like a player it's absolutely irrelevant to them whether they play well or not.

Are these comments prior to yesterday's game? If so, how is him getting MOM votes fickle? Surely those who voted for him are judging his performance alone, which is absolutely the right thing to do. In any case, how do you know that the people who made those comments voted him MOM?

I thought Sarmiento played well but Hannibal was my man of the match by some distance

Sarmiento did flatter to deceive. He had some nice touches and did some good things but it came to nothing. Including losing all composure when 1v1 and blasting straight at the keeper.

Seen it back from a few angles and he wouldn’t have seen that the defender slipped and that he had time for an extra touch. 1 more touch and he scores.

Hannibal's part in the goal gave him the edge for me, Sarmiento was also excellent.

I didn’t want to comment at the top of the thread but I voted the same way for the same reason.
