Re: Tonight's Football
Leeds have looked like winning this league for a while. They are the best team, a bit like we were when we were last in it. They put far more teams to the sword than we are capable of. Think the cup game for them was a one off. Three teams chasing 2nd..

Wouldn’t go quite that far.blatherwickstattoos wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2025 8:24 pmJesus just seen… thought Watford would have more about them. Leeds look to be walking this league now
From match 16 to match 31 so the second half of what has been fully played out so far, Leeds are just 3 points ahead of us. We are the top two.
So we are chasing hard, just haven’t caught them. But they are not done yet.

Last time I was at Exeter that St James’s Road Stand had no cover (rather than half of it) and the concrete had virtually crumbled into a bank. Still a dump though.

Re: Tonight's Football
When you ask players to play high-risk football, no matter how good they may or may not be, more mistakes will happen - it really is that simple.
When the mistakes happen near to your own goal, the more likely they'll result in a chance for the opposition.
Now, Pep will say the pros outweigh the cons, and for Man City, they probably do... For a team like us doing it in the PL? Non starter, imo.

Sooo close to an Exeter winner!
Re: Tonight's Football
Just seen Jude’s goal that’s a shambles. City don’t look like they can shut up shop even for a few mins of injury time.

Is it me or did the ref blow up about ten minutes early in the Forest/Exeter game?

Think there was 10 minutes plus extra. Think a player got stretchered off? Was watching City then so not sure what happened.fidelcastro wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2025 10:19 pmIs it me or did the ref blow up about ten minutes early in the Forest/Exeter game?

There was, but the board had gone up for ten extra minutes before the long stoppage, which was at least another ten minutes.Buxtonclaret wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2025 10:25 pmThink there was 10 minutes plus extra. Think a player got stretchered off? Was watching City then so not sure what happened.

Nasty head injury just before the 90. Didn't leave the pitch until about 100 mins. And then there was still at least 10 mins of injury time to playBuxtonclaret wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2025 10:25 pmThink there was 10 minutes plus extra. Think a player got stretchered off? Only flicked on just after they'd taken someone off, so didn't know there was loads of extra time as well as that.

Re: Tonight's Football
It's laudible how well referees implement additional time when big teams are in trouble against little teams.
Was the same story for Liverpool the other day.
The big question is: Why don't they do it consistently?

The leaders of the PL, Championship and League One were all knocked out of the FA Cup over the weekend. All got much bigger fish to fry. Birmingham and Leeds both emphatic winners tonight.

Re: Tonight's Football
Big thanks to Amazon Prime had they not had the City Madrid game last night I wouldn't have watched it. Pep the genius and City getting turned over will never not be enjoyable.
Re: Tonight's Football
I signed up for Prime last night to watch the game - cancelled it this morning for something like an £8.72 refund. So I watched the game for around £1.20. A great game too.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2025 8:03 amBig thanks to Amazon Prime had they not had the City Madrid game last night I wouldn't have watched it.
