You’re being generous there. A decent striker gobbles that up.
I know. Trying to stay positive but not being very convincing

Now I understand why Anthony didn’t make the same pass earlier and took the shot himself.

Pitch is a cabbage patch and if a player bursts past they have been able to pull us down. It is making us look less than fluent. Need a change up of style.

No point in the attacking midfielder on this pitch for me. Dribbling/short passing in the middle of this pitch is practically a non starter.

Ideal game for Barnes and two up top with wingers sticking it in the mixer. All the chance in the game have come from speculative balls over the top.

Has Foster scored since Luton in the league?

With the players we have now in the squad, we can’t be making excuses for certain players anymore.

We’re getting towards crunch time, and if players aren’t up to it, they are out.
So because he played well against Oxford and Hull we now suddenly turn on him after 45 minutes?

The effects of playing only 60 hours ago is showing for our creative line, yet we've still had a few chances. Overally, a very sloppy half for us, lacking intensity, and we're happy to sit in and let PNE have the ball. Subs needed at HT to bring some life and urgency to our play. Thought Hannibal was our best player that half, apart from the usual lot in defence.

Not a great half, sloppy and guilty with a couple of bad misses/decision making. Hopefully raise it in the second half because this is a game we should be winning if we're serious about the top two. Despite the poor surface, I still think we can out football Preston - no point in going direct like for like as they're a big bunch.

How dare you compare Super Lyle's technical ability with that of a League Two player! Hes the best striker in this league!

No point in a strong bench if you dont give it time. All the signs are that we need to change this.

Not sure about Barnes as this ref lets everything go.

Made hard work of that. Might need some early changes here as a couple just seem a bit off it today.

Not a game for Sarmiento. I think Edwards has the quality to make a difference, and Shelvey would be a shout to pick out some longer passes. Those two plus Barnes would be my changes

So many players these days seem to stab at the ball rather than get their head over it and almost pass it into the net, you see it happening week in week out. In our case we need a finishing coach.

This does have a similar feel to previous nil nils, whereby it's very tight but we still create the best chance of the game. Substitutions will be absolutely critical on this cabbage patch.

I think it's just frustration as the chance came at the perfect moment of the match and we should have gone in 1-0.
He has a chance to redeem himself but it was a terrible miss when goals are hard to come by for this team.
At least Parker can't be blamed

No-one is turning on Foster, but 1 goal in 18 this season isn’t good enough, and not enough to keep him in the starting 11 with the options we now have.

I know especially on a bobbly pitch. Shearer instep, strike through the ball. He lacked any sort of conviction there I don't think he knew what we wanted to do.

1. He's playing left midfield.
2. He played well vs Oxford
3. He played well vs Hull

Give him a break.

The space in central midfield is larger than normal. What we did vs Hull is a lot more short passes.

Can see that McCall identified Cullen as an area to nullify when watched us against Hull. He’s had a lot less opportunity to dictate the tempo.
