Draws or Wins
13 games to go
7 draws and 6 wins = 25 points
10 wins and 3 defeats = 30 points
The first option gives us 90 points which isn’t enough
Take the breaks and go for it gives us 95 points.
Coventry are in 7th and at the present rate might get 71 points ,we’re near enough guaranteed the play offs .Stop playing like we’re scared of losing, and we’ve more chance of 2nd spot.

Re: Draws or Wins
Parker won’t. Just said on another thread he needs to take the shackles off now. Start Edwards and take him off when he’s tired after an hour. He did more in 20 mins than Anyone else did in 90. Benson too. Shelvley for a bit of class on the ball. We can all see it but parker can’t

You really think a successful football manager can’t see things that those in the stands can? Seriously?blatherwickstattoos wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2025 12:45 pmParker won’t. Of course he's going to start his marquee signing. Christ almighty, do you think he's stupid? The lad is clearly getting up to match fitness.blatherwickstattoos wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2025 12:45 pmParker won’t. Just said on another thread he needs to take the shackles off now. Re: Draws or Wins
Obviously not as smart as SP ,but scoring early on definitely makes us play better as teams have to open up so why not start off with the most attacking team as we did midweek get a couple of goals and then manage the game out ,simples.

We started with the same lineup against PNE as we did midweek.Stonehouse wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2025 1:03 pmObviously not as smart as SP ,but scoring early on definitely makes us play better as teams have to open up so why not start off with the most attacking team as we did midweek get a couple of goals and then manage the game out ,simples.

Re: Draws or Wins
Time for a different approach. With 5 subs and our squad, we can start Edwards and Shelvey for the first half. Get in front and then control games with subs.

Top is v Preston, bottom v Hull.Stonehouse wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2025 1:20 pmAgreed ,but it would be interesting to know the heat map of Roberts yesterday compared with mid-week ,it’s not just about picking an attacking team but how you set them up as well.
Keep in mind the maps are upside down due to one being home and the other away.

Re: Draws or Wins
Yes, it was noticeable that Roberts barely left our half yesterday, whereas his clever movement on Wednesday played a big part in our good performance. Whilst Edwards appears to be an obvious improvement, the rest is as much down to the approach than the personnel in my opinion. Some of our best performances this season have come when we’ve had less players you would consider to be attacking on the field.Stonehouse wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2025 1:20 pmAgreed ,but it would be interesting to know the heat map of Roberts yesterday compared with mid-week ,it’s not just about picking an attacking team but how you set them up as well.

Re: Draws or Wins
I think Preston's set up was far better than our mid week opponents and this dictated to a good degree how effective Robert's movement was yesterdayStonehouse wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2025 1:20 pmAgreed ,but it would be interesting to know the heat map of Roberts yesterday compared with mid-week ,it’s not just about picking an attacking team but how you set them up as well.

Re: Draws or Wins
That’s brilliant ,whether through choice or quality of opposition the way that we play with Roberts in a free role certainly makes a difference and when VK was coach it was even more noticeable.

Re: Draws or Wins
Looking at who we have left to play there’s no way you’d fancy us to loose 3 games with the handbrake broken let alone off. We have the most favourable run in.Stonehouse wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2025 12:43 pm13 games to go

Re: Draws or Wins
I'm sure some teams have noticed that if you they are happy to settle for a 0-0 draw against Burnley, they will get it. Only if they try to win are they likely to lose.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2025 6:38 pmHull had a real go, and lost. Preston were a little more cautious, combative if you like.
Re: Draws or Wins
Looking at the fixtures - 9 wins and 4 draws is fully achievable. I think we will beat Blades at home as well.
That gives us 96 points. Hopefully that will be enough (but it might not be)
