I’m expected Middlesbrough to kick on and make a real push for the play offs, hopefully taking Bastards spot. But they’ve been dreadful recently.

Has Whittaker not joined one of his footballing mates at Boro, but agree we made the right choice to go for Edwards instead

Fair to say Edwards is on a completely different level …if it was an either/or there shouldn’t even have been a decision to make . Carrick possibly on shaky ground now.

Let’s be honest, he’s no Marcus Edwards, or Manuel Benson for that matter.
Re: Whittaker has done Boro a power of good
My Boro supporting mate texted me during the game last night:
"Carrick out
Whittaker was a waste of money"
He feels Iheanacho is really lazy too

Re: Whittaker has done Boro a power of good
Whittaker is going backwards .I thought he would be decent buy but Edwards is unreal.Carrick is one of the many ex Manure who is totally overrated.A very good player but a poor manager who has survived despite all the bad results with his signings. It's irrelevant who is in the playoffs to us as we are going up automatically UTC

Boro are always happy to back their managers with regards spending on transfers, but they never seem to improve. They are always just above mediocre.

He got the vote of confidence from Steve Gibson last week after four successive defeats which has now become five

Re: Whittaker has done Boro a power of good
Whittaker is a good example of a decent Championship winger but a bad Premier League one.
Dropping our interest when Edwards said ‘yes’ feels pivotal, to next season as well if we go up. We will be defending Parker style, and will need goals coming from flair in the forward three positions. It may grab us the narrow wins we were incapable of last season.

You’re right Captjohn we might have dodged a bullet not signing Whittaker we also dodged another bullet by missing out on Van Nistelrooy looks like Utd did us a big favour by taking him if was true he was favourite to sign for us
Re: Whittaker has done Boro a power of good
Well, that and their bringing in two centre-backs with the whitteker money.

Re: Whittaker has done Boro a power of good
Didn't Van Nistelrooy interview badly?
