Millwall fans tonight

Post by fidelcastro » Tue Mar 04, 2025 11:15 pm

Minutes' applause and chanting of the name of their goalkeeper tonight, to mark the minute he was sent off for the kung-fu kick at the weekend.

I know we can al be tribal, but blimey!

They should absolutely support the young lad, some of the media comments have gone way over the top and led to the lad getting abuse and threats on social media.

Everybody knows it was a bad tackle and he shouldn’t have made it, he was punished with a red card and cost his team the tie. The media pile on afterwards was totally unnecessary.

What media pile on? Not sure what you've been reading, but I haven't read any reaction that didn't just report what happened.

Thought interviewing their (Palace) Chairman straight after the game was out of order

He made a shocking misjudgement and was rightly sent off but the media assassination has been ridiculous.

I wonder if any of the Millwall fans supporting Roberts were the same ones singing 'let him die' to Mateta.

It was a bad tackle and quite rightly he was sent off and should get additional games if not for his challenge but for the singing of the Milwall fans,
And whist I agree that some of the on line abuse aimed at him is not right, A pundit said that some of Matetas family were at the match and heard that being sung.

For that the only correct thing is to expunge Millwalls results and future games and have them relegated with no points, and all the teams who have played lose any points they may have. Oh look Burnley have gone second
