Not a lot of people know that!

Colin Arthur ball was the actual name of trigger in only fools.
He got the nickname because he looks like a horse!

And Rodney’s middle name was Charlton (after Charlton FC) a fact which came out at his wedding to Cassandra.

Roger Lloyd Peck (Trigger) was impossible for the other members to get to know on set… he was a classically trained method actor and on filming days never slipped out of character from the moment he arrived on set until he went home… they only knew Trigger unless they met him outside work at other functions.

I thought his characters real name was Dave as Rodney used to call him Dave but everyone else called him Trigger

Whenever we’ve had a discussion about F&H my wife to this day still refers to Trigger as “Horsy”. We saw him many years ago at Kings Cross railway station. He was only 69 when he passed away back in 2014. Brilliant actor. Rest In Peace “Horsy”.

The falling through the bar thing has been overdone, but this is still a nice bit of classic comedy

If they re-made it today they could call him Triggered and create a character that wandered around getting upset about pointless things while the world turns to sh*t....!

In fact you could have a gender fluid character called Del Person and a cockney wide person called Personcie. Marlene could have a 'tache and Grandperson could wear a frock.

Yup I might go to the BBC with the idea - I could be a millionaire mange tout...!

Saw him on Pall Mall many years ago. Stood outside what I took to be his gentlemans club. Looking very dapper with a cravat and fancy walking stick.
No sly digs intented it’s just how he looked. Fine actor.

If it's a girl they're calling her Sigourney after an actress, and if it's a boy they're naming him Rodney, after Dave

I’d imagine so, which must have been hilarious. He was a very highly respected thespian more used to the grease paint of top Theatre productions and very highly respected. He was a go to for Shakespearean parts including the grand opening of the Globe theatre. Out of character he was very articulate and cultured.
