Re: James Trafford
Great news for JT and well deserved.
Struggling to understand why Tuchel has picked Henderson though. The ghost of Southgate lives on.

Re: James Trafford
Maybe because he’s a class footballer who is good in the dressing room. We also are short in holding midfielders, not his best role but one he can fill.Poulton-le-Claret wrote: ↑Fri Mar 14, 2025 9:30 amGreat news for JT and well deserved.

Maybe because he is having an outstanding seasons at Palace, but Tricky Trev’a answer is betterPoulton-le-Claret wrote: ↑Fri Mar 14, 2025 9:30 amGreat news for JT and well deserved.

Gallagher and Wharton ahead of him for me personally (and Gibbs-White, although he is in a different position).Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Fri Mar 14, 2025 9:42 amMaybe because he’s a class footballer who is good in the dressing room. Re: James Trafford
Well done Traff. Apart from that what a baffling first squad from Tuchel. Henderson and Walker? Blimey.

I'm not an international football fan at all but that doesn't come across as convincing; somewhat contradictory if anything.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Fri Mar 14, 2025 9:42 amWe also are short in holding midfielders, not his best role but one he can fill.

Re: James Trafford
That announcement, I would have thought, brings Nick Pope's international days to an end. I know he's had an injury but I can't see him getting back in now.
I was somewhat baffled with some of the comments on here about Henderson's call up, then realised there are two of them in the squad. I have to say wasn't expecting to see either Kyle Walker or Jordan Henderson selected but we have to put some faith in Tuchel who mercifully is not Gareth Southgate.

Great stuff.
I know he's had a season in the PL but when did England last call up a Champ keeper?

Re: James Trafford
There's surely been some in between but I think (not sure) Tom Heaton was called up when we were still in the Championship.tarkys_ears wrote: ↑Fri Mar 14, 2025 11:07 amGreat stuff.
