Today's football

Post by ecc » Sat Mar 15, 2025 12:24 pm

DL play away at QPR. Come on Jimmy lad!

Boro are away at Luton so let's hope they win to move further ahead of Rrrovers.

Come on, Rangers.

Wonder if Stockport fans are telling Bolton fans how much they hate them. :)

Shouldn't that have been offside as the player made a play for the ball, even though he didn't touch it.

I know it’s been said a million times but the standard of this league has depreciated so much.

The quality of football on show is so poor.

Think it’s safe to say whoever goes up is going to need invest massive sums to even stand a chance

I think it’s been this way for the last few seasons to be honest. Promoted teams have to spend around £100-150 million for 5/6 decent players at that level to stand any chance of survival.

Recruitment has to be near perfect in this scenario I reckon, which is really tough to do. Brighton, Fulham, Brentford, Forest, Bournemouth are all great examples of how it can be done, but all of them struggled to stay up in their first season or two.

It makes what Dyche did with us even more remarkable when you consider he built a squad on a net spend of a mars bar and a packet of crisps! 🤣
