Big for the competition that, the monotony of the usual suspects winning is a good thing.

Congratulations to ex Clarets Nick Pope and Tripps as well as Eddie Howe on your cup win.

They’ll be a 15 minute piece on North West Tonight tomorrow all about it with candles being lit and lanterns set off.

Must be exhausting hating all these teams and holding all these grudges. Pleased to see someone different win, and some fans who’ll appreciate it.

Agree on Drury, his cheesy GCSE creative writing nonsense is so cringe. Just talk about the football you knobhead.

Go on, I'll ask the question... How long do we expect to wait for one of the major domestic trophies?

Fortunately some of us have witnessed something that probably won’t happen again.

I'm definitely stuck in the middle regarding this game. Liverpool are my second team, and while I totally agree no team deserves success but Newcastle fans filled St James Park through their darkest days. Geordie fans do deserve some success.
Au contraire.

Season Ave D1 Ave AP LP
80/81 16,004 24,682 26 33
81/82 17,271 22,555 17 31

Would need a hell of a collapse by Liverpool. They've got a bit of a break now to regroup as well.

I'm not too sure about that. They are as fickle as any other supporter.

Incredible performance from Newcastle. Howe has done a fantastic job there.
And with little or nothing to work with financially.

I'm with you convoy , I've got a scar on my arm from the Stanley park episode . Some little toads with blades tried to slash Burnley fans before the match , for no reason at all . Luckily I put my arm up to protect my face ! After the game ( which we lost ) , it was still carnage walking round the park to get back to the coaches .
I don't believe you. Can't be true. Liverpool fans never do anything wrong. The purest of football fans and European Royalty. (although they seem to hate the country they are from).

The Burnley fans wanting a Newcastle were obviously not at Hillsborough in 74 , and no I won’t let it go ,
....and the Burnley fans who wanted a Liverpool win obviously never heard of Heysel, and the reason why ALL English teams were banned from European football for many years after

I was there, not sure what that's got to do with this game.
I don't like the booing of the national anthem, if you don't like it, just don't sing, and that's why I wanted Newcastle to win.

I was there, at Hillsborough 74 , together with the other Gargrave clarets .
Mainly remember being squashed into that leppings lane end and looking over to the thousands of Geordies in the far end

How about a coach load of Geordies attacking 8 family members 1 of which was my Mother .

If we're going down that route then I've been attacked twice at Anfield, once with my dad who was 70 at the time, after a league cup semi final, but as stated my dislike yesterday was the booing of the national anthem
