He has looked really sharp and good on the ball recently. Links well with Anthony.

Consistent run of games has brought out the best in him.

Marcus Edwards being above Lyle Foster or Lucas Pires for player of the season shows a bit of a flaw in the system.
Is it not worth having a minimum game requirement to be included?

Good on the ball and getting better defensively. He sometimes dwells a bit too long on the ball and occasionally turns needlessly back into trouble but he is learning. Swansea targeted him with high balls in the second half but he stood up pretty well

It doesn't really matter because you need to play a decent number of games to come close to winning it.

He’s definitely a player that improves with a run of games

Does it?

Out of those players, who have had a greater impact on games directly since coming into the side?

It's no coincidence that since ME has come into the team, we've been far more potent in attack.

Don't be ridiculous. He's made about 6 starts. That isn't enough to be in any sort of player of the year discussion.

Pires is part of a back 4 that has one of the best records in history.

I'm never a fan of chopping and changing every week. The run of games where Pires and Humphreys switched didn't do Pires any good. He appears to be a player who needs a run of games, and we're seeing the benefit of that now. He has his moments, but he's generally a decent looking player with potential. Vitinho was hit and miss in the Championship and the Premier League, but there's no doubt he improved massively over his two years with us. I see no reason why Pires can't have a similar trajectory.

He's nowhere near winning player of the year, nor did I suggest that he is.

But it's not ridiculous to suggest a player who has only had 6 starts has had an impact on the side far more than those who have played more games - just look at our record in his 6 starts.
