Good to see CJ selected with £50m rated Branthwaite on the bench. Praying he signs a new contract.

I think he's right. He bossed the Championship but never settled in the Prem. He might do it, but needs time.

Not gone well so far England losing 4-2 and their striker has a hat-trick.

4-3 now (Liam Delap)

Then Harvey Elliott skied a penalty higher than Chris Waddle.

CJ one of the last to be subbed...did great, often trying to cover a non-existent right back by tracking 2 attackers at once....but all in all he looked very confident and certainly one of the better players.

I flicked through this. Was there a right-back? Didn't see him.
Odobert is a very good footballer.
The England GK is very poor off his line.
Didn't see Harwood-Bellis do anything right

This England u21 side conceded as many goals in one 90 minute friendly, than Burnley have in their last 20 League games ... Let's hope CJ does not return infected by this Defensive incontinence ...

This is from the UEFA Regulations for the 2023-25 edition of the European U21 competition.

"Players are eligible to play in the competition if they were born on or after 1 January 2002. "

THB was born on 30 January 2002. So, he'll be eligible to play in the final phase in June.

Report in Times say U21s were playing 3 at the back - so, no right back - and, from result it appears that midfield and forwards were limited in their tracking back to defend.

Chaotic tbh Paul...no defending from the front..midfield outclassed and wide "defenders/wing backs? simply might as well have not been there, so France able to attack in numbers at will.

CJ left with impossible task of dealing with at least 2 offensive players time and again..effectively on a hiding to nothing throughout.
