Jay Rodriguez
Jay Rodriguez
Jay Rods just got his 1st Wrexham goal ... He missed a pen and scored the rebound
Re: Jay Rodriguez
Good lad Jay. It’s unusual though for him to miss a pen.
Re: Jay Rodriguez
Poor pen tbf the keeper guessed the right way, but could only parry it.
Jay was quick across and put it back through the keepers legs.

Re: Jay Rodriguez
He’d be disappointed with the miss. It wasn’t the best penalty tbh but his reaction following the save and the finish was tidy

Re: Jay Rodriguez
Terrible Pen but showed his quality to score that rebound - it wasn’t easy
Re: Jay Rodriguez
He has been getting stick at Wrexham, so good that they s ore. Probably dwell on the miss, rather than the goal, if they have taken against him.

It won't be long before their fanbase is as arrogant and self-important as many others.

Re: Jay Rodriguez
They are already. I play at Wrexham golf club and to listen to some of them, it's only a matter of time before they win the PL. Jay Rod was coming in for some stick but mainly because the fanbase thinks he has taken John Mullin's place in the side. Mullin being the star striker who banged in loads of goals in the lower leagues. Phil Parkinson is doing a pretty good job IMHO in getting the team ready for the Championship but time will tell if the US media darlings will want to cough up the kind of dough that they'll need to compete at that level.Clovius Boofus wrote: ↑Sun Mar 23, 2025 7:46 amIt won't be long before their fanbase is as arrogant and self-important as many others.

That said, the recruitment policy of the Hollywood owners has been shrewd: no major fees - compare with Birmingham this season - but invest in players from higher divisions on very high wages.
That might not work as well next season. At least I hope not.
Re: Jay Rodriguez
They've got a solid, sensible and quite dull manager. Seems to help keeping the club grounded.ecc wrote: ↑Sun Mar 23, 2025 10:59 amDespise this hijacked version of a historic club.

They could do with an upgraded version if they go up, Parkinson had never really cracked the Championship..Dyche would be the perfect appointment. Doubt he'd look at it usually but with the wages Wrexham could pay if they go up you never know.

I wouldn't rule it out. If it were nearer Kettering he'd be well tempted I think.Goliath wrote: ↑Sun Mar 23, 2025 11:16 amThey've got a solid, sensible and quite dull manager. Seems to help keeping the club grounded.
