Haven't they done good deals on ticket prices for a few years now? Both season tickets and matchday?Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Sat Mar 22, 2025 4:33 pmAbsolutely incredible for a game against Colchester, new club record apparently for a league game
Still a fantastic attendance though for what is fourth division in old money!

756 for Colchester is also amazing! They only used to get a couple of thousand for a home match!

I think it's more down to the cheap pricing.

Re: Bradford City
They sell shed loads of season tickets at ridiculous prices. I did some temporary work in Keighley a couple of years ago and met a guy who had moved up from the south. He'd bought season tickets for himself and his two young sons at Bradford for something like £250 and simply said it was the thing to do round where he lived (Bradford) because it was ridiculously cheap and almost an expectation. Consequently they have amazing crowds!

They’ve been doing those cheap season tickets for probably around 20 years now.

My mate lives in Bolton Woods (Bradford) that overlooks their white elephant of a ground. Last season, on match days, you couldn't even tell there was anyone in it.
I am genuinely pleased for Grandad though.
Re: Bradford City
Ours is a B'ford postcode but B'ford is the 4th nearest ground ... Nearest is Burnley then Acc, B'tards then B'ford.

Shipley is one of the strangest places about. I’m originally from Baildon, which has a lovely upper bit and an…interesting…lower bit.

Bfd City's big crowds of recent years are solely down to cheap season tickets.

Re: Bradford City
It’s probably not the intent but it can sound a bit sneery when we say ‘yeah, but it’s just because it’s cheap’.
All it shows me is that there’s 23,000 people in Bradford who want to support their local 4th division side, and there will be similar numbers around the country, but we’re currently pricing them out.
Surely you’re not only a proper fan - or should only be counted as one - if you have a good level of disposable income and can pay £40 for a ticket? Well done to Bradford, hopefully everyone there had a good day at football.

Re: Bradford City
Bradford City have said yesterday was "the largest league attendance ever for our club!"
Is that correct? Yesterday was the highest attendance in their entire history? Until yesterday Bradford City had never had more than 23,381 people watching them? Is that right? I find that a really low number.

Re: Bradford City
This could be correct for any league game.
I did find this though -
'The attendance record (for Valley Parade) of 39,146 was set in 1911 at an FA Cup tie against Burnley, making it the oldest-surviving attendance record at a Football League ground in England'

Re: Bradford City
Bradford City got marginally more for a league game against Sunderland in 1913. So it's not their highest attendance ever, as the club says. Just seems a weird thing to lie about. And I'm surprised Bradford City have never had more than 23,000 fans at a league game at any point in their history. Huge city, Premier League... It seems a low number.

Agree with your sentiments entirely but it would be interesting if Bradford were to be promoted once or twice what happens to their pricing.NottsClaret wrote: ↑Sun Mar 23, 2025 7:14 amIt’s probably not the intent but it can sound a bit sneery when we say ‘yeah, but it’s just because it’s cheap’.

They simple could not afford championship wages with those tickets prices. They’d need somebody bankrolling them.

There was an excellent Jamaican cafe next to Valley Parade when we last played there we got an excellent goat curry after the match to celebrate another away win.
Re: Bradford City
Bradford's seasons tickets aren't ridiculously cheap are they? It's £263 for OAPs whereas ours are from £242, and all our OAPs kicked off at that price.
Adults are £299 against our £352.

Re: Bradford City
I went to a pub in a nearby village for Sunday lunch today and was having a bit of banter with the owner about my favourite beer having run out.
A man sitting at the bar asked me where I came from, When I told him he said " I was playing golf yesterday with Roger Eli."
He said he was a former footballer and had played against Burnley in rhe Sherpa Van final. he is Micky Holmes (or Homes) and had been strechered off after a tackle from Paul Comstive.
He was in Bradford for a celebration of twenty years after winning some title and had been at the match.
He also played against us for Torquay in the playoffs.
