great broadcaster in his day, and long career in radio.
Loved his cricket and was very knowledgeable about the game too.
Not sure how long he was at BBC for radio Lancs, but he famously was the last one to interview John Lennon a day or so he was murdered in New York.
Andy Peebles was a big name for that era when radio One still had some credibility.
A sad loss.

Just to echo the words of the previous post. Living in the area I listened a lot to Piccadilly Radio in the early/ mid 70's where he was excellent for a few years. Always struck me as someone who cared about his listener and researched topics well. Avid cricket fan, avid Man City fan( when they weren't doing much compared to now), RIP Andy Peebles, a master of his craft.

My ex Mrs used to do a slot on his Radio show in the early 90’s , he was a really nice bloke and an v good broadcaster a huge Lancs fan too ,he knew everything about LCC .
