Transfer insanity ramps up

Post by Woodleyclaret » Fri Mar 28, 2025 7:21 am

The continued Premier league driven prices are showing no signing of abating.Tyler Dibling in his breakthrough season at Saints in being offered at £100m.This is complete insanity for a one season wonder.Maybe we reciprocate with demands North of £50m for Traff and Steve. Max will stay with us when we go up but Traff has had his head turned and will be off .

You do realise that Southampton asking for £100m and someone paying it are two entirely different things?

FaoTFC yes unfortunately I do but it's driven by teams like Chelsea paying £47m for a 17yr old and then manipulation of "fair play" rules to avoid sanctions

Is this Southampton saying he's not for sale unless some team is daft enough to cough up that sort of money.

I suspect the price tag that Southampton have placed on him,in order to hugely raise his profile. As has been posted already-is another club prepared to bid that.

Adam Wharton who I believe is 21 and made his league debut for Rovers in 2022 went to Palace for £18m rising to £22m. I would consider him to be a very astute purchase, but at the time £18m raised a few eyebrows. Is Dibling ever going to be 5 times the player of Wharton-I think we may know the answer

Yeah, I reckon Wharton will prove an absolute steal for Palace. They could probably get 3 times that this summer. Dibling would fetch around £25m and Southampton would take it.
