Liam Rosenoir
Put down by many on here but he's led Strasbourg to 5th in Ligue 1 only 2 points off Marseille in 2nd, won 6 of their last 7 in fantastic form.
He's doing an incredible job. Good on him for taking a gamble abroad as well, still only 40.

Re: Liam Rosenoir
Another manager put down by many on here has led his side to the top of the Bundesliga and quarter finals of the Champions League, another one has just led his team to a trophy, and another one who can’t do no wrong got the sack .
Re: Liam Rosenoir
Talking to some leeds fans when we were first linked with him and they were genuinely worried about him coming to burnley, they all rated him very highly.

Re: Liam Rosenoir
Most of this board could get Bayern to the top on the BL it’s almost a 1 club league , they’re a huge super club and the BL title and a QF CL is an absolute minimum requirement tbh. That VK almost wrecked the club is something of a factor .
Re: Rosenior , I’ve no idea of any connection he has to the club ?

Always cracks me up this one. Most of this board don’t even know the system and formation their own team play, let alone managing one of the largest clubs in the world, in a league that wasn’t won by them last season, while managed by the, errrm, current England manager.AlargeClaret wrote: ↑Sat Mar 29, 2025 7:28 amMost of this board could get Bayern to the top on the BL it’s almost a 1 club league , they’re a huge super club and the BL title and a QF CL is an absolute minimum requirement tbh. As for Rosenior, he was on my 3 man shortlist in the summer, along with Corberan, who is doing well at Valencia now.

Completely different scenarios, all the managers you refer to managed our club so fans got to judge them for themselves over a period.
I've mentioned a manager we were linked with who a lot of fans on here said wasn't good enough and didn't want anywhere near our club.

Re: Liam Rosenoir
Was there a lot of fans saying that? I’m sure some did, I know a good few would have been happy if he was appointed, including myself.
Re: Liam Rosenoir
The disrespect Kompany gets on here is way over the top. He's quite clearly a good manager. A high demanding club like Bayern, a year after not winning the league, simply do not employ a bad manager. Didn't work for him for us in the Premier League for a variety of reasons but a bit of balance wouldn't hurt sometimes.
Rosenior is doing really well. Will be interesting to see his next step.

There were quite a lot who thought Hull had underachieved last season and he deserved to be sacked.Swizzlestick wrote: ↑Sat Mar 29, 2025 7:56 amWas there a lot of fans saying that? I’m sure some did, I know a good few would have been happy if he was appointed, including myself.

Kompany was great when it was going well but his treatment of several players in our Premier league season was nothing short of disgraceful. When the going got tough he bottled it.

Ha, I thought he was very unfortunate to be sacked - funny old game. I know he brought a few players in but he had them in a better place than they’re currently in.
There was a rumour we interviewed him but I don’t know if that’s true or not.

A lot of people were underwhelmed at the prospect of him. I was quite disappointed when it appeared he was out of the running. Thought he’d have been a good option.

Yes really, go back and read the threads you'll find loads of comments from people not wanting him and saying he isn't good enough or even failed at Hull.

Re: Liam Rosenoir
I'd say that not wanting him and putting him down are two different things. I know a couple of Hull fans who were relieved he'd gone but I suspect they'd have him back now. I would not have been keen on him coming here but that's not putting him down.

Re: Liam Rosenoir
There were a few people saying they did not want Parker, Rosenoir or Lampard.
There were a few people saying they wanted RVN
There were a few people saying they didn’t want Dyche, Coyle, Cotterill.
We sacked Howe look at him now
A bloke down the pub before we appointed Harry Potts said he would get us relegated to the North West Counties league
So what ?
Why does anyone start a “told your so” type thread just because someone has gone on to do well in another job with another club ?
It’s like bringing up historical comments made about a defender who played for us under VK who was pillared by a certain poster, who then got to a champions league, was then sold for £45m and last week played for Netherlands. Who would ever bring that up again ?!!

I'd say by saying you don't want somebody or somebody isn't good enough to manage your club is exactly putting them downClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Mar 29, 2025 8:37 amI'd say that not wanting him and putting him down are two different things. If it's come across to you as a told you so then that's how you've read it and says more about you, it's merely pointing out that he's gone abroad and been relatively successful so far after being linked with usBig Vinny K wrote: ↑Sat Mar 29, 2025 8:43 amThere were a few people saying they did not want Parker, Rosenoir or Lampard.

Re: Liam Rosenoir
So why mention “put down by many on here” ?
Guessing you were not one of them.
Looking at the thread it’s not just me who reads it like that.
Re: Liam Rosenoir
The general standard of that league is far inferior to the Prem though, a bit like the SPL. Is the bottom half any better than the Championship?RVclaret wrote: ↑Sat Mar 29, 2025 7:36 amAlways cracks me up this one. Isn’t that what you and lots of other people said about VK in the Premier League ? Hasn’t he gone on to do reasonably well too ?
Point is that both VK and Rosenoir may well not have been good enough to manage Burnley back then. Both of them doing ok now does not prove anybody who thought they were not good enough a year or 2 ago either right or wrong.

Really? So everyone you don’t want is putting them down? He was not someone I would have liked us to appoint but that is very much not putting him down.

Re: Liam Rosenoir
Considering how many names were bandied around for the job , LR , though a relatively young upcoming manager hardly had enough experience or profile for an immediate return to the prem remit ,as did SP. I wasn’t aware he was any more unpopular choice than the likes of Lampard and RVN and don’t remember him being vilified in the slightest .

Re: Liam Rosenoir
VK has absolutely nothing to do with this thread as I've explained about previous managers mentioned that have all managed us, we've decided about those managers from seeing them managing our club, Rosenoir didn't and people said he wasn't good enough but he's doing another good job.Big Vinny K wrote: ↑Sat Mar 29, 2025 10:22 amIsn’t that what you and lots of other people said about VK in the Premier League ? On VK though I'd say he was 10 seconds from getting the sack at Munich, an own goal by Celtic saved his job.

Re: Liam Rosenoir
VK is a very good manager who needs the right players to play the system. We could not afford the type of player he needs to compete in the Premier League using those tactics.
I like Rosenoir. He was sacked because they wanted more exciting football but I didn't think they were overly defensive when I watched them. Didn't they have some really good forwards and score quite a few goals?
