PNE v Villa

Post by ElectroClaret » Sun Mar 30, 2025 1:55 pm

Still goalless and Preston doing ok, though AV doing the bulk of the attacking, as you'd expect.

Can see PNE tiring as the game goes on.

Genuinely wouldn't mind doing PNE winning even though they're a rival of sorts.

Due to Woodman getting injured in training, a Burnley lad Li Bau Stowell has been named as Preston’s sub keeper.

Their pitch must have been re-laid? Can’t be the same cabbage patch we played on.

I notice that PNE have to go to Elland Road in the next couple of week. If they defend as resolutely as they have today it will be a difficult game for Leeds.

They will have nothing to play for especially if they are still in the cup

Meghoma looks a great prospect. Only 18 and very quick. On loan from Brentford.

Closest they'll get to a Premier League team at Deepdale for a while. But at least they'll always have that win against Burnley's B team.

Seen the start of this game until we went out for a meal, had heard they were going to make it uncomfortable and intimidating for Villa. Came across as a non league side hosting a Prem side and just happy to be there seeing a Premier league side visiting.

They made it uncomfortable in the first half by supplying a few dozen white balloons to cause confusion with the ball. Was like they didn’t know how to organise their stadium for the visit of top level opposition, perhaps because the last time they played at that level the ball was brown which would have helped everyone see it.

Very limp performance.
