The most incredible bit to me is that in 40 league games, no team has scored more than once against us.

The fact weve lost as many as those chasing promotion this season in 4 seasons is maddougcollins wrote: ↑Sat Apr 05, 2025 7:13 pmThe most incredible bit to me is that in 40 league games, no team has scored more than once against us.

Re: Longest unbeaten run
I don't think our Championship record gets enough acknowledgement. Three managers. Three promotions, could soon be four. Two titles, could soon be three. How many losses in that time? Is it less than ten or something ridiculous? It's phenomenal success.

Re: Longest unbeaten run
It’s 15 losses in nearly 4 seasons. Ironically the same as Cov have lost this season. Incredible doesn’t do it justice across 3 managers following 3 relegations.

Is it 27. That historic 30 approaches. Rewriting history?

Re: Longest unbeaten run
According to a tweet from Darren Bentley on that theme it's:
"Five defeats in last 109 Championship games
27 Championship games unbeaten this season, following sequences of 22 and 23 in previous campaigns
9 wins in last 11 Championship matches.
28 clean sheets in 40 league games
Not conceded more than 1 goal in a league game all season"
5 defeats in 109 is ridiculous. As is the rest to be fair.
Wind back a couple of months ago I was still a little unconvinced by Parker's way. Glad to say he and his team have convinced me. Let's hope we keep seeing those stats until the end of the season!

Re: Longest unbeaten run
If that third title happens it would be 3 titles in the last 3 seasons in that league, under 3 different managers
I can’t think of any other teams that would have happened too

Re: Longest unbeaten run
Let’s be clear, half way through the season he deserved berating (to a degree).
We were outside the top two despite one of the two most valuable squads (by far), were playing mind numbing football and was about to set a record for the most goalless draws. It was shaping up to be a miserable disaster.
However, he made two tweaks, the team started being a ‘little’ more adventurous, then he signed Edwards and we become ‘much’ more adventurous.
That makes criticism then praise by the same people both valid. And, vitally, it keeps him on his toes. No way should we condone what we had in November and December, and we have to make sure he doesn’t revert to that again.

Bouncing back after 3 relegations.
We must be up there with one of the best Championship clubs ever but I suspect there are other teams with more than 5 promotions from this division to the league above even if they are not all titles? Can anyone confirm?

Re: Longest unbeaten run
After looking Norwich and us are both on 4. So if we clinch another promotion we will have the most in championship history. No other side has won the title three times. A cluster are on two. So we would also take the record for that too, if we remain top.
At the end of this season we could be the greatest/most successful championship club since its begining so far.

Re: Longest unbeaten run
I think I heard Sky the other day say our 5th promotion to the prem would equal a record, probably Norwich or WBA or someone like that
Re: Longest unbeaten run
He didn't "deserve" berating at all. He deserved time and patience after he was given a far from perfect start imo.CrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Sun Apr 06, 2025 3:50 pmLet’s be clear, half way through the season he deserved berating (to a degree).

This stuff about not condoning what happened in Nov and December is laughable. When you play a full season you have some bad results and some bad performances, you can't chose when they come but it's why a season is judged as a whole and not by months or weeks.
People still don't seem to realise that if we had done better in those fixtures we'd now be on 90 points plus, on our way to the biggest points tally in history with the best defence ever seen. It's absolutely fanciful and quite frankly ridiculous, how can you justify that being your expectation?

Just checked and Norwich have 5 promotions with 3 as champions so if we win it will equal that. They haven’t done 3 in a row as champions though.

SP and VK both building from scratch said it will take time for them to gel. Both were correct. New team mates, new systems, moving home, etc., It all takes time but under both we have finished so strong. We just need to see this through now.

We were third with half a season to go and well in touch of the top two. I’m not sure why that deserves any criticism at all!CrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Sun Apr 06, 2025 3:50 pmLet’s be clear, half way through the season he deserved berating (to a degree).

You mean back in November and December when we started our 27 unbeaten run? Amazing what a bit of patience will do.Juan Tanamera wrote: ↑Sun Apr 06, 2025 6:16 pmAbsolute nonsense.
Are you saying we should have been praising Scott Parker for the dreadful football that was being served up just a few short months ago?
Unbelievable some people.
Why not forget all the good results and just judge us off the rest yeah?

Absolutely we should. That "dreadful football" and those draws will be the difference between promotion. We should praise Scott that when we weren't at our best we only got beat twice unlike the other promotion candidates.Juan Tanamera wrote: ↑Sun Apr 06, 2025 6:16 pmAbsolute nonsense.

But why should I say I've enjoyed watching something I haven't.

Re: Longest unbeaten run
Sometimes it's wise to reserve judgement until we see the bigger picture. As said previously all teams will have poorer games, just listen to Leeds and Sheff U fans now.
However this season ends, it has been an excellent season for all 3 teams. 2 will achieve automatic promotion and the third may still get to the Premier League. Despite this, all 3 will receive, or have already received, undeserved abuse.

You indicated he deserved no praise for the earlier part of the season. In fact your terminology was a few short months ago.Juan Tanamera wrote: ↑Sun Apr 06, 2025 7:39 pmAnd that's nonsense as well, I'll praise us every time and anytime when we play well, win or lose.

We haven't been beat since November so how short and few months ago was it?
You have to view a season as a whole, in context the earlier part of the season saw us build a very solid foundation and keep up with the top clubs. Every season the team who wins the league loses and draws some games, everyone drops points. Would people have preferred it if we dropped them at different intervals? Because that is literally all it is. As it goes we've dropped fewer than anyone else. Some people are mental.

My original response was to Spike who suggested those who berated Parker should hang their heads in shame.
Well I never berated him personally but heaven knows why I should be happy clappy about the dire football that I pay my hard earned to watch.
