He used to umpire local leagues with his wife.

I once no balled him 4 times in an over - he wasn't happy lol. Good umpire, but the less said about his missus the better.

If it wasn't for 2 hotels coffee franchise, 1200 seater conference facility and car parking for Man United games there would be no international cricket and Lancs would play their games at a 3,000 seater out of town facility in Wigan which was the option before the 2011 redevelopment.

How do all the other county cricket sides without that facility survive then, and mostly do better than Lancashire?

Do the good people of Durham and Hampshire pile out to their grounds more than the good folk of Lancashire? Same for the bad folk of Yorkshire?

I’m afraid the commercial aspects of the club along with the franchise shite now rule the roost at Lancashire, and the county sides don’t matter one iota.

Durham hosts international cricket (as does Lancashire) which is where over half their income comes from. Without international cricket, which accounted for 4 million income on the last set of accounts, Durham would have filed a loss of about 3.7 million.
Hampshire were insolvent before indian company GMR put 120 million in.
Yorkshire filed a loss of 7 million on the last set of accounts.

Must admit i always thought it can't be very enjoyable playing county games in the big Test match grounds that are empty.
Would rather play and watch at one of the outgrounds in front of a decent crowd.

Miles behind the game again, zero chance of winning, likely having to bat for a day and a session to salvage a draw, for the 3rd game running this season, and about 9 or 10 in a row if you add in last season. Like the club the other side of the road, looks a pretty toxic environment where good players regress under weak and confusing leadership.

Not looked even likely to win any of our opening 3 games ...

Of all the things to poke fault at the club for, I don't think the ground is one of them. It's a world class venue. The pavilion bar is great to watch the game from behind the bowler's arm.

I don’t like it - used to love it with the old traditional pavilion before they turned it into an eyesore stuck between the point and the hotels.

Not sure many Spurs fans are blaming their ground for a 16th place in the Premier League.

Hey … the players are not cutting the mustard currently and as a lifetime member of Lancashire Cricket I agree but please don’t blame our poor performance on the ground.

Onwards ….tomorrow is all about football not cricket.

I'm not blaming the ground for the poor performance, just think there's a better vibe around the club when playing at an outground. The rush for tickets, people seem excited to go and watch.
