Unbeaten at home all season?
Does anyone know if we've previously gone through a whole season without losing a home league game?
It would be another record to aim for, if not!

Re: Unbeaten at home all season?
Two more wins would see as the only club at this level to get 100 points or more on two separate occasions.
Also, four more points would see us get more points than any of the promoted clubs last season.
Two games without defeat will match Reading's unbeaten run.
Can't remember if Trafford needs a clean sheet in at least one or both games to get the record over a season.
Surely there must be other records we are aiming for.....
But can't think of any

Probably the less than 2 goals in any game during a season which may be a record, not sure tbh

Trafford needs one more clean sheet for Burnley to equal the record of 30, although he'd need a shutout in both remaining games to equal the record himself, due to Hladky playing in the home win against Cardiff.Spijed wrote: ↑Mon Apr 21, 2025 9:58 pmTwo more wins would see as the only club at this level to get 100 points or more on two separate occasions.

Re: Unbeaten at home all season?
If we concede two or less in the last two games it'll work out better than Chelsea conceding 15 in a 38 game season

Re: Unbeaten at home all season?
I doubt anyone keeps records, but Sheffield United are only the second team to equalize against Burnley this season. We've taken the lead 28 times, by my count, and held on to it 26 times.

Ah yes, that was the weekend those in the know told us that he was definitely leaving.fidelcastro wrote: ↑Mon Apr 21, 2025 10:04 pmTrafford needs one more clean sheet for Burnley to equal the record of 30, although he'd need a shutout in both remaining games to equal the record himself, due to Hladky playing in the home win against Cardiff.

No, I believe the Gillingham keeper also missed one game in their record 30 clean sheet season.fidelcastro wrote: ↑Mon Apr 21, 2025 10:04 pmTrafford needs one more clean sheet for Burnley to equal the record of 30, although he'd need a shutout in both remaining games to equal the record himself, due to Hladky playing in the home win against Cardiff.

Of course, the Port Vale keeper must have missed at least one game then as the record is 29 held by Gillingham's Jim Stannard.

Re: Unbeaten at home all season?
Maybe, but we definitely know that it's one more clean sheet to equal the league record as a team and two more to break it.
The record Gillingham hold is fewest goals conceded in a FL season (20). We currently have conceded just 15!

Liverpool, for example, conceded 16 goals one season they won the old first division (42 games).
Re: Unbeaten at home all season?
Would be great to be the only team in English football to get 100 points twice.
Also I there has never been a season in history where two teams have reached 100 points in the same season.
Either us or Leeds could be the only team in football history to get to 100 points and not win the league.
Crazy stuff.

Re: Unbeaten at home all season?
That’ll be us then. We’d have to make up a 15 goal goal difference deficit for Leeds to finish 2nd on 100 points. Two 9-0 wins (if Leeds only win their games by one goal)?Ric_C wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 8:08 amWould be great to be the only team in English football to get 100 points twice.

Re: Unbeaten at home all season?
So now it’s all about records and the title.
2 wins to nil for:
100 points - only team to get 100 twice in English football league history (w/o premier league)
31 clean sheets in a season - only team to have 31 in English football history
No games with more than 1 goal conceded- only team to do this in English football history (I think)
15 goals conceded - lowest goals per game conceded in English football history
33 games undefeated in a season - Equal Championship record for consecutive games undefeated
Let’s see how many we can tick off

Lowest goals per game would still be on - 17 in 46 would be better than Liverpools 16 in 42
Can still equal the 30 clean sheets v millwall.
Re: Unbeaten at home all season?
We won 14 out of 15 home league games when we won the 2nd Division in 1897/98. We drew the other so that was an unbeaten home season, albeit only 15 games.fidelcastro wrote: ↑Mon Apr 21, 2025 9:53 pmDoes anyone know if we've previously gone through a whole season without losing a home league game?

Re: Unbeaten at home all season?
The question mark can now be removed.
In addition we have:
First team to get 100 points or more twice in the championship
First team to get 100 points and not win the title
Lowest goals conceded per game ratio in football league history (any level)
Equal most clean sheets in a football league season but the most at tier 2 level
Equal most games unbeaten at tier 2 level
Joint lowest goals conceded in football league history (excluding PL)
Probably best goal average in football league history
There’s probably more to add.

I heard that we are the only team in history not to concede more than one goal in any game for one full season.

Re: Unbeaten at home all season?
Didn't we go 12 games without conceding a goal, setting a record at this level?
