That’s why VAR is so useful. They can’t even see that. I can’t wait for our Varsical season starting in August.

A few years back we played Chelsea, can't remember the exact date, but a Chelsea player was less than sportsmanlike in his tackling.
The MOTD commentator immediately praised him for use of,'the Dark Arts'
Soon after, Ashley clattered one of their players and left him in heap.
In the post match analysis, Merson was scathing in his criticism of Barnsy’s tackle.
Seems like the expression 'Dark Arts' only counts for the big clubs, if you're a small club you're just 'dirty b~~~~srds.

Just replied to Vegas on another post. The Barca player just keeps falling to the ground. Concentrate on him instead of the Inter player and it’s clear there’s no offence.

what ?? The first is clearly a dive but the second two are most definitely pushes - does he go down easily ? Of course he does

You have to make a stand when you’re being held all the time. The refs do nothing about the holding and so defenders just do it all the time. The PSG players were at it last night too. As much as they need to cut out the diving the holding is just as bad.

The Barca player is looking for a foul, right decision. We’ve been so groomed in this country into believing any contact is a foul. European refs are miles better, allow a bit of grappling and god forbid ‘contact’. The English game is now the softest internationally.

I’ve noticed this over the past few weeks in the European games. They let a lot more go in Europe where as it used to be the other way round.
You get a free kick in England most of the time if you just fall to the floor with someone around you.

If you watch The Big Match Revisited you'll see some meaty challenges that rarely went unpunished.
Some of those guys doing that today would be banned.

Not sure about that. Watched plenty of European football where ref blows his whistle every time someone falls over. Don't think the video above would be a pen in England either, both as bad as each other.
