Edwards is a class act and would easily get into a top 10 PL side.
Exactly. Spot on.

Marcus seems a quiet lad who likes an arm around his shoulder. That includes from us.

His career record is superb - shot creating actions and goal creating actions, which measure the passes, fouls or dribbles just before a shot or goal, are ranked very highly, be it the Champion's League, the Portuguese League etc. On SCA over this season, he ranks higher than Anthony, and that is by no means a criticism of Jaydon who has been brilliant.

We probably instruct him to be wary where to take risks, yet still we are averaging a 125 point season since he began starting. Worth saying too, he hasn't completed 90 minutes for us and his form has gone in fits and starts through his career, I sense with a bit of mental discipline to evolve he hasn't yet peaked.

Quite simply - Marcus Edwards is pivotal to our chances of staying up. We will try to be solid, so the risk is not scoring enough goals. He is key to that.

Are you not a tad concerned about how lightweight he is ? I've never seen him play for anyone other than us so I can only go off what I've seen this season and sometimes he's got bullied, I appreciate it's a small sample size.

An improvement on Benson and Koleosho
But still mainly left footed, lacking pace to get past defenders down to the byeline and cross
Struggles to track back and help out Roberts

It didn't do Messi any harm playing at the highest level.

No. That stature will win a lot of free-kicks. They tend to give them in that league. They will stand off him.

Him (and Foden) maybe not the best examples.

But, lighter than Edwards and a similar height in this Premier League, will be Doku, Sterling, Soloman, Amad, Harvey Elliot, Trossard.

The last two on the list I think are slower too. The question as to how many of those could perform in a relegation battle would be valid, but I would rather have them than not.

I was chatting to a Spurs fan a few weeks ago about Edwards. Poch once said Edwards reminded him of a young Messi when he was a kid at Spurs.

Edwards is a good player. His arrival marked the renaissance of Anthony on the left and freeing up space. Just needs to get a shot off sooner.

Marcus Edwards has the ability to beat an opponent one on one with the ball at his feet. It’s something cery few of our squad have and hes done it at champs league level. We would not get a player anywhere near as good as him for the rumoured 8million. Look how much money Ipswich paid out for the likes of Philogene and Hutchinson. Hes worth the money and he had a positive impact on our season.. its a definite yes from me.

They defend differently in the Premier leaving space in behind to exploit as Koleosho found out.

He will also likely only have one player marking him next season, at times last season he had 3 players on him hence opening play up for others.

Probably Alex Crook who is usually as accurate as a broken clock.

On this occasion though there does seem to be quite a few reports around of our interest so he's probably just nicked someone else's story.

I'm optimistic that Zian Flemming will do well in the EPL for exactly that reason. He's had a torrid time this season with trips, nudges and most especially shirt pulls, not even 10% of which have been penalised. I doubt that he'll suffer as badly next season, resulting in him having more opportunities to get a shot away, or at least free kick or penalty

Fabio Silva sounds like a proper signing to me.

Has experience of playing in the Prem, was very highly regarded as a young un, had his best season this year, now a full Portugal International.

Probably not silly money considering the above.

I remember Silva playing against us at Turf Moor for Wolves a number of years ago and I thought he played really well - quite strong for his young age. Clearly he hasn't got the numbers in England and probably moved too young and for too much. Regardless, if the price is right I find the idea of signing a 22 year old, 6'1 Portuguese international striker who just scored 10 goals in 23 league games in La Liga as quite an exciting idea.

Players blossom at different ages.

I remember him being a real pest all game until they took him off, which I found strange at the time given the problems he was causing.

It’s well documented that he didn’t want the move to Wolves at the time as a young lad, but was forced by Porto to move.

He may indeed be blossoming and I’d be all for it if his attitude fits the group. Could be a shrewd move both for Burnley and Silva.

I’ve always wished our one footed wingers would learn to cross with the outside of their good foot. Instead of having to cut back and allow defences to get organised. At least Marcus goes past his defender either side.
Lamine Yamal got an assist against RM doing this, last weekend. Not that he can’t use both but the opportunity was there and he took it.

That would be a horrible move for him, IMO.

Perform well this year, and you're guaranteed a move to a top 14 or so PL side. That is what the young bucks should think about.

No other club, except for the three promoted teams, will guarantee them Premier League starts.

Graeme Bailey is probably the least ‘reliable’ journo, if you call him that, around. For example, last week he stated Watford were doing all they can to keep Cleverley amid interest from other clubs:

‘EFL Analysis expert Graeme Bailey has confirmed that, despite the change in agent, Cleverley will remain in charge and has no plans to leave.‘

https://eflanalysis.com/news/tom-clever ... nt-change/

It has become a bit of a parody on X that whatever he says, the opposite tends to happen. So this link should be good news for us.

Strikers are massive for us. As much as Flemming has performed admirably, we need 2 proven PL strikers. That will be damn near a miracle to pull off.

Could Mitrovic be one?

Having said that, this story doesn’t sound that credible to me especially as it’s coming from a single unreliable source.

He's out of contract, we have no leverage - particularly if they're going to funnel the deal through Strasbourg

Think he’s a slightly different player IMO. But I do agree he’s a ready made replacement. Been well impressed with him tonight.

As others have mentioned Sakamoto has also looked decent.

Think he’s a slightly different player IMO. But I do agree he’s a ready made replacement. Been well impressed with him tonight.

As others have mentioned Sakamoto has also looked decent.
Slightly different but as that '10' / 'advanced 8' / goal scoring midfielder role.

He's only 23 as well.

Sakamoto has played well but he's 28 and one swallow doesn't make a summer...

Sakamoto has a similar playing style to Johann Berg Gudmundsson.

I would imagine there will be a few interested in Rudoni and I reckon they'll be looking 15+ for him minimum - surely better value elsewhere ? I do think he's decent though

Could it create leverage for Dewsbury Hall to come to us. We have done several loans with Chelsea in the last 4 years -Drinkwater, Maatsen, Forfana, Humphreys
Mentioned this on another could see Broja coming our way.
