Kings birthday awards!!

Post by Tricky Trevor » Sat Jun 14, 2025 4:06 pm

For Luke Littler to get one at 18 after 2 years in senior darts and Kevin Sinfield not to get one after a stellar career in RL playing, RU coaching and his charity work for his mate Rob Burrows just goes to show what a farce they are.

Not going to comment on Littler’s MBE, but tbf Sinfielf already has a CBE

Littler has received the MBE, the lowest of the 5 rankings of the Order of the British Empire, which I agree is daft ...

Kevin Sinfield received the same in 2014, for " Services to Rugby League ", he was awarded the OBE in 2021 ( Services to charitable fundraising & Rugby League ) and CBE ( Commander of the Order of the British Empire ) for services to MND awareness only last year ... the next step is his Knighthood.

You need to understand the protocols and trust Kevin Sinfield will have his day when due.

Penny Mordaunt gets a damehood for carrying a sword. That does it - time to end the honours system.

Kevin Sinfield WILL be knighted, absolutely no doubt about that.

Littler is a cracking player but at this stage in his life is hardly worthy of this award. It does make a mockery of the whole thing.

I don’t agree with the honours system in its current format, but with how awards are chucked around these days, Littler probably does deserve an MBE, even at such a young age.

Youngest ever darts world champion and somebody who has catapulted darts to a whole new level.

And Kevin Sinfield will rightly be knighted some day.
