Re: Tresor
I was present at the event, and it was also streamed live on youtube. What he said specifically was that he was at the training ground and available for selection, which doesn't seem to have been the case.billyhamilton82 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 19, 2025 11:15 amThat was just a comment by someone on here, which led to the vitriol.
Is it possible that the comment was stirrring controversy or had beeen misunderstood?
Probably not a good idea to undermine the chairman with "gossip" that can be misconstrued through perception or worse purposefully causing controversy.
The word "allegedly" is always helpful in these circumstances.
With the size of that scar, it is not laparoscopy, it is open surgery, which will take a long time to recover even for a normal person, never mind an athlete.

It is not possible to misconstrue what he said - 'he is training and fully fit'.JarrowClaret wrote: ↑Thu Jun 19, 2025 1:06 pmQuite clearly it was easily misunderstood as it has been by many people on social media, including yourself by the looks of it, for clarity being fit and well is TOTALLY different to be being fit to play. What pace said was so poorly worded and utterly unhelpful, but all you had to do was to listen to what Parker said about him and watched how he and his teammates reacted to Tresor and that would tell you more than what pace said. After all Parker and his teammates are the ones who deal with him on a daily basis.
As for what was said privately I also read that, but you or I have no idea what Pace actually said to that person I would imagine it was paraphrased and maybe missed some context but as said I don’t know but as with anything put in here I took it with a pinch of salt until I see proof that it was accurately portrayed.
SP is the manager of the team, he is not in a position to criticise players. And what Parker meant and how his team mates feel is just conjecture.
Basically what you are saying is - you aren't prepared to accept the video of the Chairman making very clear comments but you are prepared to conjecture on how his team mates feel about him.
To be honest, that is just bonkers.

If they don't want calling out , they just need to stop behaving like idiots. Simple!

Re: Tresor
I have no idea how his team mates feel about him - none of us do so I agree that is just conjecture. Not sure it’s bonkers exactly though as think some fans views of how some of the players feel about Tresor are taken from videos, social media support, the managers comments etc. But agree it’s not a statement of fact.ClaretPete001 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 19, 2025 1:15 pmIt is not possible to misconstrue what he said - 'he is training and fully fit'.

However i do not believe the chairman and the comments he made in the video. The fact that he said them is not open to conjecture I agree.
I have no idea why he made them but I do not believe what he was saying is the truth or a fair assessment of the situation.
Does not necessarily mean he was lying as we could give him the benefit of the doubt that he was just not as informed about the situation with Tresor as the medical staff, manager etc (though personally I’m finding this difficult to believe)
And 100% the chairman’s comments did not help the players situation or the views of some of the fans on Tresor.
Re: Tresor
It’s all very odd.
What doesn’t make any sense is why a club like Ajax, or any club for that matter, would try and sign a player that had surgery for a serious issue and was so very unfit. He wouldn’t stand a chance of passing the medical for a start. Ajax would do their due diligence beforehand and know of his illness by speaking to the agent. So why try and sign him?

Re: Tresor
Why is a manager not in a position to criticise players yet a chairman is? Many managers criticise there players although I accept Parker may not be 1 for doing that so you could be correct about that for him. There is no need to read between the lines of what I wrote though there is no hidden meaning I meant exactly what I wrote.ClaretPete001 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 19, 2025 1:15 pmIt is not possible to misconstrue what he said - 'he is training and fully fit'.

I fully accept what the chairman said in the video I watched it at the time but as said I took it with a pinch of salt as I believe it was missing a large amount of context, I could be wrong I will accept I am if someone produces something factual and conclusive. As for player feelings, I never mentioned them of course you are correct i can’t judge that nor can pretty much anyone else on here. What I mentioned was how Parker talks about him and how he and his teammates react to him. Human nature makes it hard for us to fully hide dislike for someone when talking about them or being around them and if the rumours were true he would be disliked. For example Parker would be more formal when talking about him just simple things like him calling Tresor Mikey rather than Mike. There are other examples from the Reading game that stuck in my mind but you are correct I could be wrong about them all I would rather look on the positive side though, lets see what happens if he is still our player come September.
Re: Tresor
Ajax didn’t sign Tresor because of the loan fee, not because of any injury/illness.

Re: Tresor
Is that a statement of fact or rumoured at the time? I remember it being in the press can’t remember anything conclusive coming out. Genuine question, I do remember the chairman did mention transfers with Tresor but he said something like we have to get our moneys worth out of him before he gets transferred. Not sure if that comment was made at Tresor or the Club making a bid though maybe it was aimed at both quite clearly though if Ajax make a bid for you as a player you are interested though.

Re: Tresor
I remember that, you were quite unwell if memory serves me correctly so going on what you say if Tresor has had similar he's done very well to get to where he is today. Let’s give him a lot of vocal support it will do him the world of good and hopefully BFC.
Re: Tresor
As far as the timeline goes, this is what I remember
1. Ajax try and sign Tresor, but pull out because of loan fee
2. Tresor posts on instagram on his private jet with a miffed face
3. Not involved at all in pre-season, so fans quite rightly at the time were probably thinking he was one of the many others who wanted out having been sold the "Kompany premier league dream".
4. Transfer window shuts - Tresor is still a Burnley player. Fans become excited about having the prospect of him knuckling down and tearing up the championship.
5. No Tresor for months - Fans asking why
6. Parker says he's had a "significant illness" in one of his pressers.
7. This illness / injury keeps him out for the rest of the season (as per Ramsey, Beyer and Redmond)
I think the unfortunate timing between points 2 and 6 gave mosts fans (quite reasonably I might ask) to start asking the question of what has happened to our 15 million pound playmaker (especially as we were really struggling for goals and creativity at the time).

Reality is. Most will never know the full truth. Rightly or wrongly.
Tresor is (Hopefuly now) close to a return
The fact this coincides with a return to the prem will not help and only fuel the rumour merchants
Hopefuly we can just put it all to bed. He comes off the bench at Spurs and scored a 97th minute winner.

Re: Tresor
Lot of games in that month period though taking into account the Christmas period but yes it lends itself to him being fit and training but NOT necessarily fit to play! No idea of the truth like the rest of us one day I hope we get more context to this situation
Re: Tresor
Loose lips sink ships.
I hope the club learn from this and some of the other comments that have been made this year. Matt Williams telling fans that CJ was close to signing a new deal is somthing else that shouldn't have happened imo.

Too many posters on here want to bash the ownership, without just stopping for a minute, thinking what's been said ( not what some poster says was allegedly said) and what happened.
He did ok a Reading for someone who had been out that long, but the management didn't think it right to play him again after analysing the data.

For the record, I think what AP said is likely to be true as he understood it. My only point is that the club's only reliably statement is the one AP made. You can't rely on fan rumour. Nor on what SP said because he is not in a position to say such things about players.

Pace completely threw the lad under a bus with his comments. But with or without Pace, the booing Tresor got was a disgrace. Just really poorly handled by the club and a bit embarrassing by some fans. Parker is obviously excused, as it turns out he was pretty much honest and on the mark without betraying Tresors wish all along.
Whatever it was I hope he's healthy, whether he plays for us or not. I suspect not, and I couldn't blame him.

Re: Tresor
Nowhere near accurate from the chairman. He was obviously never "fully fit". He also offered no context to say that Tresor ever had a problem at all. If I remember right he didn't even mention illness or injury, and insinuated we should start a campaign to get him to play. Literally everything he said suggested he had no physical problems, and it was a mystery as to why he wasn't "out there helping the team".

He had a significant illness in the summer
He had several niggly injuries when trying to get fit after getting over the illness
He played 30 mins or so against reading then got another injury
He then played was it 50 minutes or so in an U21 game and nothing else was said about him afterwards that I can remember
I read, not sure if it is true, that he was fit towards the end of the season but Parker decided not to involve him

Re: Tresor
Not a bad summary except you forgot to mention APs comments which probably amounts to 8. All in all & taking all factors into consideration in some quarters it's widely believed he's been as fit as a fiddle all along.Ric_C wrote: ↑Thu Jun 19, 2025 2:23 pmAs far as the timeline goes, this is what I remember

Re: Tresor
"I would maybe suggest and encourage is we do a
writing campaign I don't know how what else to do at this point um but I would love for for for Mike to be out there helping us and and taking us to a different place um whether or not that that will happen your guess is as good as mine. I see him regularly and he's fully fit."
Taken out a few ums and ahs. Gee, I wonder why people got the impression there was nothing wrong with Tresor and there never was. Baffles me how some people can't see the most obvious interpretation of that would be that he's refusing to play. Im sure he didnt intend it, but they're absolutely stupid comments from the chairman.

Re: Tresor
Poor do when people can't hold their hand up and say 'you know what, I was wrong'. Instead, they dig a deeper hole for themselves, and it isn't a good look.
