Not the first time this has happened in Spain and good on him. Players who are fans and proving it.

Superb footballer, in the David Silva mould, but his career in England was blighted by injuries.

Perhaps he has earned enough in his career to enable him to be so generous. Would be nice to see other multi-millionaire professionals doing similar things, though

Love this.

Minimum wage and still €93,000 a year!

He could do what Phil Bardsley did and donate the wage to the Club Charity.

Just bumping this, Real Oviedo have tonight won promotion back to La Liga for the first time since 2001 after winning their play off final 2nd leg 3-1 against Mirandes AET.

Being 1-0 down on the night and 2-0 down on aggregate Cazorla got the first goal of the comeback at 40 years old after also scoring the winning goal in the semi final against Almeria.

FC Andorra have taken their place in the 2nd league. Might have to do that Malaga CF away day :)

Maybe millionaire Jamie Vardy will make a similar gesture at Fleeetwood ? No too much arrogance and solicitors bills to pay

He was only there for a year. The equivalent would be his playing for Stockbridge park steels.

If that’s the minimum wage in Spain I’m going to speak to those lads in Calais to see if I can borrow a dingy

Strange comment to pick out a player who’s played all his league career at one club, and earnt his money countless times over if you asked any Leicester fan.

He would have done. Doesn’t mean he has to though. Great gesture.

Visited Oviedo a couple of years back with StAlbansClaret during a road trip in Northern Spain. If it is his home town / home town club there's way, way worse places / teams to end his playing career in / at.

93,000 Euros / year and never having to pay for a meal or a drink when out and about in what was a lovely place. No brainer!

My son and myself were always big fans of his talent when at Arsenal. In all the time he was there we couldn't make up our mind whether he was a right-footed or left-footed player. Incredibly gifted.
