In what respect will it change do you think?

Are the shares an equal split for all the employees or are those higher up given more of the split?

I have a meeting with an independent accounting company in July to get the ball rolling at my place but could do with knowing what questions to ask beyond the obvious ones.

I recommend you use AI to search for Employee Ownership Trust (in England and Wales). It will provide some general information that should assist you. My understanding is that individual employees don't own the shares in an EOT, rather the EOT owns the shares for the benefit of all employees - meaning, also that when an employ leaves their participation in EOT ends.

Good luck.

I believe the trust only hold the shares until the sellers get their asking price. The shares then transfer to the employees.

It is a question top of my list tho, what is my exit reward.

Maybe none if you leave before sale of the company. You might only be eligible for shares while employed, and might only be able to buy them when you leave, but only under certain circumstances, such as retirement or redundancy.
