We won't be playing in it this coming season. Sixteen clubs with Cat 1 academies are entered. That means Brentford & Bournemouth miss out as Cat 2 clubs, but all the other PL clubs who weren't relegated last season are in plus Leeds with us and Sunderland missing out.
Sunderland are in the National League Cup though which is under-21 clubs and National League clubs in a competition won last season by Leeds who beat Sutton in the final.

Simply league position. Those who got in were all in the Premier League last season apart from Leeds who finished above us in the Championship.

Re: Missed out on EFL Trophy
I don’t know I assume we aren’t. You only mentioned Sunderland being in it, so I assumed you were saying that we weren’t. Not seen the club confirm anything official about us being in it, but I may have missed that. Since no one as far as I can see has said we are in it I assume we aren’t in it when why I am asking why we aren’t in it.
No all of use are mates with the directors.

Re: Missed out on EFL Trophy
Not sure I understand the last line of that post but what I was saying in the post was that Sunderland, like us, have missed out on the EFL Trophy but they have confirmed they are playing in the National League Cup. Whether we are in or not, I don't know.RickyBobby wrote: ↑Wed Jun 25, 2025 8:54 pmI don’t know I assume we aren’t.
