Spud Bros - PNE new sponsor
The 'superior' ones have announced their new kit and sponsor.
There's a lot unhappy.

Joke of a club that lot
Re: Spud Bros - PNE new sponsor
What a horrible thing to have on your shirt and I would say that even if it was on ours. I doubt their fans can buy the shirt without the logo.

Never heard of them but 4m followers online is some going. Is that selling jacket potatoes?
Re: Spud Bros - PNE new sponsor
Local entrepreneurs who use their platform to help raise awareness of testicular cancer. Some strange ill informed ideas of what constitutes pathetic/horrible on here.

Re: Spud Bros - PNE new sponsor
Very well known locally and decent lads by all accounts.
Re: Spud Bros - PNE new sponsor
Absolutely no different to when we had Hollands pies as a sponsor. Would much rather have a local sponsor with meaningful connection than a faceless and questionable gambling firm, but each to their own!

It’s a great business, 2 great lads however the logo looks hideous & tacky on a football shirt so no one’s going to buy it, that’s not their fault.

At £70 for an adults shirt, that should be enough to put people off whatever is on the front of the shirt. You can buy something decent for £70.

Re: Spud Bros - PNE new sponsor
The logo is very garish, but they are very well known here in Preston and have done really well for themselves using social media as a powerful marketing tool. The queues go round the block on a weekend and they have huge numbers when it comes to that buzzword ‘engagement’.
They come across really well tbh and have done a lot for charity and the local community. I do wonder from a PNE angle about the benefits though as I can’t imagine they’ll be paying as much as the previous sponsor but there could be longer term benefits.

Re: Spud Bros - PNE new sponsor
Good sponsor, as others have said, they're a great, local business.
As an aside, I see PNE have followed our lead and gone down the 'iconic floodlights' path with the design!

Re: Spud Bros - PNE new sponsor
It's definitely got comedy value, but fair play to the lads who own Spud Bros. I suspect when they set up their van they never expected to have their names on PNE shirts one day! The downside is the logo ruins the shirt! But can we really take the high ground on that given the kits we've had in recent years (Laba360, Lovebet, & W88 spring to mind!).
Re: Spud Bros - PNE new sponsor
Agreed, though it looks horrible on the shirt. I guess it is ok if they can pay extra to not have it there.
Re: Spud Bros - PNE new sponsor
Exactly what a shirt sponsor should be - although would look better in a dark colour

Re: Spud Bros - PNE new sponsor
I read the thread first and was expecting something terrible. Yes, the logo is too big as on every shirt - and from an aesthetic point of view, not very legible. But it’s alright and a good sponsor. I’d happily swap.

Legitimately mind blown that people selling jacket potatoes out of a van (nothing wrong with that by the way) can get a following in the millions.
Like, is that how dumbed down people are these days? Collective brain rot!
All the things one can do with their leisure, skills you can learn / hobbies you can do and folk are sat on their couch (or even worse lazily handing an iPad to their kids) to watch other people live their lives.... Bonkers if you ask me.

Best chilli beef jacket potatoe I've ever had.The only good thing about the FA cup trip to Dumpdale.
Re: Spud Bros - PNE new sponsor
Thought it was a joke when my mate sent me this today. Fair play for it being a local sponsor, but it's one of the worst kits I've ever seen.
It's quite hard to get an all white kit wrong, but it looks like zero effort has gone into it.

Re: Spud Bros - PNE new sponsor
Not really. The younger generation won’t flick through newspapers looking up who died the past week. They’ll go out and support local business rather than stay at home and whinge they’ve closed down.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Wed Jun 25, 2025 1:45 pmLegitimately mind blown that people selling jacket potatoes out of a van (nothing wrong with that by the way) can get a following in the millions.

Way to miss the point.
I'm sure that following trends and being influenced by content from algorithms is wholly natural and individual behaviour.

Re: Spud Bros - PNE new sponsor
I prefer our sponsor. I certainly prefer the amount paid
Re: Spud Bros - PNE new sponsor
This. I’d prefer all football clubs not to have anything on the front of their shirts other than the club badge. But if something has to be there then I’d prefer it to be someone we were making lots of money from.ŽižkovClaret wrote: ↑Wed Jun 25, 2025 3:38 pmI prefer our sponsor. Re: Spud Bros - PNE new sponsor
If you are daft enough to pay an absolute fortune for one spud you’ll probably thing the shirt is ok
Will the manager get the sack?
Do Preston Ultras use Spud Guns?
Does Robbie Brady do the chips?
Knobbers must not grow the Spuds they couldn’t even grow grass
Can we still call Spurs the Spuds

I noticed the price and had a look back at what they charged last season and spotted it was the same as us at £60. I really hope we don’t have the same increase.

Re: Spud Bros - PNE new sponsor
Last year I think it was the socks that we charged more for kids than we did for adults too once the VAT was removed from the adult price. But for people with kids, wanting all three shirts, it becomes one hell of an item.CyrilEbokiPoh wrote: ↑Wed Jun 25, 2025 5:46 pmI literally only buy in the sale now.

Fortunately in Preston there’s a likelihood that not all the kids have the same dad. Therefore spread the costCyrilEbokiPoh wrote: ↑Wed Jun 25, 2025 5:57 pmFor a family with three kids, who want all three kits and keeper kits. You must be talking a grand a year!?
