Our record breaking defence could be completely overhauled at this rate

If Trafford leaves (many on here seem to be saying he still will), then our backline for the opening game at Spurs could look something like... Weiss (or new)
Tuanzebe Humphreys Esteve Hartman

This is also based on Esteve staying, which isn't a guarantee either.

After the season we've just had, it would be a shame to see that defence completely different in terms of personnel, but I guess this is the PL and it's almost a different sport.
Could also look like

Trafford

Roberts New Esteve Pires.....

Yep. You need depth in the premier league. That means 8 or 9 defenders all comfortable at the level.

Spoke excellently in his interview, accepting a 1 year deal and trying to prove himself is great, think this could turn out a really shroud signing
Shroud sig ing...a mystery!😁

Lots of jokes going around saying he'll need to be buying a dishwasher with his new wages, as he nearly lost his thumb doing the washing up https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/ar ... 78lyn0djvo

Also, the best thing about this bloke is that he holds the Guinness world record for the fastest game of Hungry Hungry Hippos at 17.63 seconds https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/44885706

Mears had just spent the previous season on loan at Marseille while his parent club Derby had finished 18th in the Championship.
I know.

It could, but I doubt it.

Direct replacement for CJER at RCB.

He's supposedly quicker than Esteve.

Fast, powerful, skilful perfect for the EPL.

Time will tell but he could actually be an upgrade on CJER.

Roberts - Tuanzebe - Esteve - Hartman

That's a solid backline.

He seems articulate and well informed spoke highly about SP but i somehow get the feeling that he using us just to stay a PL player i hope that I am totally wrong and that he goes on to be a great signing for us but only time will tell

If its a one year contract that would seem to suggest that sadly, but I've not seen an official announcement on contract length and hope we have an option for another year.

Of course he’s using the club because he wants to stay in the premier league, but if hes part of a team that manages to survive and then leaves, he’s still done his job hasn’t he

Do we know what the Ipswich fans made of him last season?
There was one on TikTok last night spitting feathers about him leaving, but his main gripe seemed to be about the club he was joining (i.e., us)

"Burnley? F****ng Burnley?"

Make of that what you will, but he was definitely unhappy he was going.

The arrogance of some supporters. This will be the same Ipswich who have spent one season in the top flight out of the last 20 plus years and spent a lot of that time not even in the championship.
