Re: ARTICLE: Clarets clinch Tchaouna deal
On paper, a very exciting signing.
Re: ARTICLE: Clarets clinch Tchaouna deal
I don't know anything about him, but he looks an athlete from the YouTube clips which seems to be a good trend so far in our new players.
Re: ARTICLE: Clarets clinch Tchaouna deal
We have to give praise to those working upstairs.
We're getting big business done early, and Parker is 100% being backed.
Long way to go yet but we need a statement signing, the biggest of all to replace Brownhill, and a striker. If we carry on like we've started then I've got no worries we'll get what we need.

Only seen bits of him on Youtube but as I've mentioned before, what I loved about him was his vision and very quick passing. He looks to be someone who will certainly get the ball moving which could be very useful with any counterattacking.

Re: ARTICLE: Clarets clinch Tchaouna deal
I don’t know anything about him only seen the YouTube links but I’d much rather we go down this route than old washed out players. He looks big, strong and perfect for a counter attacking side which i thought we would have been 2 seasons ago! I wonder if he can play up too too? Anyway, welcome to Burnley! Well done to the recruitment team too. The Dale Stephens window seems a distant memory thank god.

Re: ARTICLE: Clarets clinch Tchaouna deal
This is the best start to a window yet for me. Pure efficiency is the words I’d use to describe it. Glaring gaps in the squad being addressed instead of stockpiling players in positions.BigGaz wrote: ↑Wed Jul 02, 2025 12:17 pmWe have to give praise to those working upstairs.

Brownhill replacement, striker and a keeper then we have a squad.
Around 60m spent so far with hopefully at least 30m to come from selling Trafford, if we can generate another 10-15m with some deadwood then financially it’s nothing like the last time in the prem with over 100m spent with no sales

Re: ARTICLE: Clarets clinch Tchaouna deal
This latest deal is a loan with an obligation so we wouldn’t factor the payment into this budget would we? Either way I’d agree with you but if I’m being greedy, I’d like a centre back too.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Wed Jul 02, 2025 12:45 pmYeah great early work done!

Edwards 8m
Humphreys 10m
Tchaouna 12m
Hartman 7.5m
Weiß 3.5m
Around £50m I make it (Flemming was last seasons deal, he was always joining permanently). Agree with the wider point though. If we make 40m in sales then you’d think that entire amount could be reinvested (seems we have already been looking at spending 17m on Diouf).

Ah ok thought I’d read a loan somewhere with obligation.
If we can get that striker from Belgium, Diouf , a centre back, a gk and a quality loan we will be cooking

Also from the glass half empty side that if we don’t spend all the tv money this season and do go down we might not be in a position to have to sell big players againRVclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jul 02, 2025 12:54 pmAnthony 9m

I think that's the plan with buying young talent, you very rarely lose out financially and can shift them if you need to123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Wed Jul 02, 2025 12:56 pmAlso from the glass half empty side that if we don’t spend all the tv money this season and do go down we might not be in a position to have to sell big players again

It isn’t a loan, he’s signed a five year deal as per the article linked at the top of the thread.gandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Wed Jul 02, 2025 12:46 pmThis latest deal is a loan with an obligation so we wouldn’t factor the payment into this budget would we? Re: ARTICLE: Clarets clinch Tchaouna deal
Do we know is Tchaouna is more naturally an attacking wide man, or a striker. Be interesting to know with our recruitment "jigsaw" starting to take shape. It may influence if Amdouini stays or is sold as we already have a NO 10 in Flemming and the now fit again Ramsey, and of course Brownhill has yet to officially depart

Re: ARTICLE: Clarets clinch Tchaouna deal
Anyone got an inkling as to what position he plays?
Re: ARTICLE: Clarets clinch Tchaouna deal
With a record of 15 goals in 110 matches, I hope he's been played more as a wide player than a centre forward!

Re: ARTICLE: Clarets clinch Tchaouna deal
I asked a Lazio fan what we could expect. This is what he said:
Tchaouna showed some flashes of quality at some parts of the season but he was still inconsistent with his performances, hence he wasn’t really a starter here. He’s versatile that he can play either as a winger or as a 9 where Baroni had thrown him into that role for some games. Could be an exciting talent but he’s still raw, could be a long-term project with him. He’s already had many appearances for his age at only 20, a lot of other fans will say he’s terrible but I think he needed a change of scenery and the pressure here in Rome is more intense for his age, a change of scenery was needed

Not convinced another young winger from Europe is what we need but happy to be proved wrong!

Re: ARTICLE: Clarets clinch Tchaouna deal
Looked to me to be more central on the clips I saw but other sources say basically anywhere attacking. Attacking central midfield / 10 / wide midfield / forward.
