An immense signing and well done to the club for managing to keep it quiet. Going to be exciting to see who we bring in next.

True
Ryan Giggs was a model professional on the pitch, but as we all know now, not off it

Re: Summer transfer window
I honestly thought the Kyle Walker signing was a Photoshop joke when I first heard about it .....soooo glad it's proved to be a remarkable bit of business for AP, the board and Scotty P all doing a fantastic job in getting him to the Turf. Walker is still very hungry for football success and wants to a part of Burnley s plan.
His experience and talent will be immense both in the dressing room and on the pitch.
May prove pivotal in Trafford staying as well.
I'll hopefully see him playing in the Lazio friendly

If anybody finds a negative in this move they should take a season off. Because they are looking for every negative possible in their life and enjoy being miserable.

I’m intrigued to see if this helps to bring in more ambitious signings, or just gives those players who are slightly undecided that nudge to say , yes I’m going there as well.

Good signing and a winner on the pitch. Can’t understand any negativity at all and think it is a bit of a coup but some will always find something to whinge about.

Re: Summer transfer window
The team is shaping up to be stronger than the Championship team. Under Kompany, I'm convinced we started the Premier League campaign with a weaker side than we got promoted with.

I agree with that. This time we have held on to the loan players that got us up.

Re: Summer transfer window
All in nice and early as well. Utd players aren't due back until next week. In our situation we have take advantage of every blessing , no matter how small.
I thought we had a fair chance of staying up post season, but the window has improved things massively.
I'm still hopeful Josh will see the grass isn't always greener, and come home.

I find it crazy that teams are back in training and you have city who’s season only finished last week and Chelsea’s that’s still on goingColburn_Claret wrote: ↑Sat Jul 05, 2025 6:08 pmAll in nice and early as well. Re: Summer transfer window
I’d say we are significantly stronger.
As well as Amdouni and Tresor coming back (both could leave and I accept mixed opinions), we have improved our back four / five substantially in at least 2 positions, maybe 3. We have signed (pre injury) one of the most sought after left backs in Europe, the best right back in the world at one time, and a centre back who Man Utd believed could hit the top.
I expect us to dramatically improve centre midfield and striker too in the next few weeks, we still have loans left. It is just goalie that is a risk if Trafford goes.

Re: Summer transfer window
Great signing and the strength in numbers for the defence is looking good . We now need more strength in midfield . The combination of Brownhill (possibly) , Cullen and Laurent will get murdered in the prem . The next few weeks should hopefully solve this predicament.
Re: Summer transfer window
100% agree just said this on another thread, need 2 in my opinion big combative and athletic for in there. I’d be spending the Trafford money if or when it comes on 2 midfielders of that mould for sure.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Sat Jul 05, 2025 6:19 pmHave to sort the midfield out, currently nowhere near strong enough in the middle imho

The club are doing brilliant so far. As pointed out, central midfield and a striker to come. Plenty of time to sort that and even loans could work.

Re: Summer transfer window
Great signing Walker, plus seems like the bonus’ only come if he plays so many games and if we stay up so there is more of a incentive
Feel for roberts in terms of being pushed out under vk and been good performer last season but ‘football is a business’ works both ways I suppose
Hats off to pace as a ‘younger’ supporter he has done nothing but try to get a decent manager to run the footballing side and back their transfer wishes (obv within reason)

Great so far, but probably 10 need to be either sold or loaned out.
And I'd say the defensive midfield needs an upgrade or two.

Cullen will be fine. When VK dropped him he was correct, he hadn’t got up to speed. When he came back in the early Spring he was a different player and didn't look out of place at all.

Would you immediately replace Roberts with Walker? Or would you start next season with Roberts and make Walker earn his starting place?boatshed bill wrote: ↑Sat Jul 05, 2025 7:08 pmGreat so far, but probably 10 need to be either sold or loaned out.

Re: Summer transfer window
As much as we all love Roberts, I'd have thought the current England international, who started 11 times for City last season, and made 34 appearances between them and AC Milan would be favourite to start.

Looking at our signings so far it looks like several of last seasons team could be missing out this season. I wonder how that'll go down.
Re: Summer transfer window
It’s a valid point but, looking back now, VK’s man management left a hell of a lot to be desired.
I’d back Parker to do better in that regard, but it will be interesting to see how he knits it all together.
