David Dunn
Had the displeasure of being behind him at Lytham Festival tonight- another claret had already spotted him and his mates giving it large.
Good bless Kevin Ball.

Re: David Dunn
Did anyone see that interview he did last week where they asked him how much he would be worth in today's market?
He responded with 100m.
The player who is most like him was Phil Foden.
The lad is away with the fairies. He spent half of his career in the championship.

Did you speak to him?
He's actually a decent bloke, I was sat waiting with him in a barbers once and had a good chat. Quite liked him

We saw him too at Lytham and obviously had to remind him about 15 years and counting. He seemed to take it in good faith.

He played 12 of 19 seasons in the PL. Most of his time spent in the second tier was in the last few years of his career.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Mon Jul 07, 2025 9:05 amDid anyone see that interview he did last week where they asked him how much he would be worth in today's market?

Re: David Dunn
Glad I wasn’t stood behind him. Wouldn’t have seen much behind “fatty”. Was he munching on chicken all afternoon?

In what world is it fair and reasonable to be rude and aggressive to someone because twenty years ago he worked for a company you didn't like?

Re: David Dunn
Met him when we won the league at Ewood.
There was a rumor he would come in to the Burnley suite pre match in the exec area. Nobody believed he would, but fair play he did and he was a good sport. In the main Burnley fans were too (although some behaved as you might expect, especially in drink). So he didnt stay long!
He was a good sport and came across as a good lad. And believe he is.
Pantomime villain in the games between us. And we all enjoy giving it on those days for 90 minutes.
But enjoying himself at a festival in a totally different town? Whats the problem with that!

I don’t think anyone was rude or aggressive to his face. But in answer to your question, the world of football.

Re: David Dunn
Other than the shirt he wore on matchdays I've never heard a wrong word about him although I've never spoken to him.
Re: David Dunn
I can confirm he's a really nice guy. Bought me several drinks over the years whilst chatting all things footballClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Jul 07, 2025 10:27 amOther than the shirt he wore on matchdays I've never heard a wrong word about him although I've never spoken to him.

Re: David Dunn
I concur with most people on here. I was on a golf day with him last year and he's a decent, normal bloke.
No arrogance about him at all, had a good laugh about football and he told us he actually didn't really like the derbies, as he's so many friends who are Clarets he got grief whoever won

I wonder if he'll admit he was a mile offside by now?
Re: David Dunn
To be fair to him he’s always taken the banter pretty well from my experience and he’s taken plenty around the Ribble Valley in the last ten years from us resident Clarets.

Re: David Dunn
I was told a story about him a few years ago that I was led to believe was true.
He was at Padiham watching cricket and went to the bar to get some drinks. He walked across the playing area with the tray of drinks only for a couple of clarets to run on and pull his trackie bottoms down, leaving him helpless with him holding the tray. Apparently his reaction was just to burst out laughing.

He lives round the corner from me, see him in the local regularly. He’s a nice enough fella.
Re: David Dunn
Wasn't he on our books as a schoolboy?
Or at least have some connection with Burnley

He's a good lad, by all accounts.
Besides, he'll get enough stick off his family, because half of them are Clarets.

He used to play for Gt Harwood youth teams at cricket and been up Padiham a couple of times watching them.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Jul 07, 2025 1:27 pmI was told a story about him a few years ago that I was led to believe was true.

His best mate was from Padiham as we have quite a few from the town that go to St Augustines school where he went.
I think it was his mates from Harwood that pulled his keks down.

Re: David Dunn
I've stayed at his hotel in Blockhall Village (The Avenues) a few times. He was sat next to us in the bar last time. My wife is a typically loud American and when she went to the toilet he leant over and proclaimed, "She must be from New York 'er". My wife was about ready to go all Kevin Ball on him when she found out lol Seemed like a decent sort to be honest.

Re: David Dunn
Had the misfortune of “meeting” him once. Ramsbottom United were at home to Great Harwood. He’d turned up with some mates to “watch”. But they spent the whole night in the cricket club drinking. Of course it got to them making demands on the tv channel they wanted, and they got louder and louder. When asked to quieten down, out came the “do you know who I am”? Statement. He wasn’t……..
