Smells like a last ditch attempt to retain Verstappen and/or a new broom approach if they have already accepted Verstappen is going......

The talent they've shed in the last 18 months is insane, maybe they should have arrived at this decision earlier and kept the other fellas.

So its either a last ditch attempt to keep Verstappen, or they have accepted Verstappen is going and want a new broom for a new era, or Horner was just too toxic for whatever reason, lets say, to keep the thread safe, and they lost patience?

I really like McClaren and them being them really shows up some of the other teams for how they are.

He’d also been linked with Ferrari. They might just be getting ahead of the jump. They are winning little this season.
