Wonderful. Pity the narrator didn't get that Dobson to Dobo, you still say it as per his surname, rather than the simple o sound.
Taught my extremely young daughter D O , D O B . DOBO, DOBO (Dobbo sound)
She was only about two. Managed D O B O DOBO
One of the greatest.

Certainly has a better ring to it than the Ian Moore corner flagDark Cloud wrote: ↑Wed Jul 09, 2025 8:40 amA price worth paying if you can then name a stand after yourself!!!

A class act who was one of our greatest players.
Interestingly Max Esteve has been compared with Martin as a ball playing defender.

My favorite ever player and was great to watch. Saw him make his debut at Wolves as a centre forwards

Was always Dobbo at Burnley - the middle B must have been dropped at Everton, and I have a letter here from him which he sent while running the youth department, He signed it DOBBO.IanMcL wrote: ↑Wed Jul 09, 2025 2:16 amWonderful. Really ? Don’t see any similarity at all between the two either positionally or in terms of how they play.Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jul 09, 2025 8:59 amA class act who was one of our greatest players.

I think the narrator just saw the word and didn't know the chant, D, O, Dob, D O B O, DOBO (Dobbo)ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Jul 09, 2025 9:32 amWas always Dobbo at Burnley - the middle B must have been dropped at Everton, and I have a letter here from him which he sent while running the youth department, He signed it DOBBO.
Everton would say Dobbo too. That being his name.

Just taking a wild stab in the dark but I think the “narrator” might be an AI voiceover?

The only reason I would ever get a cat is so I could call it Dobbo!

Re: £300,000 Betrayal of Martin Dobson
My favourite ever player, been privileged to have met him a few times, and he isn't one of those who you can say, Never meet your hero! What a great player and man he is!
Re: £300,000 Betrayal of Martin Dobson
Dobbo had the ability to ghost into the penalty area at corners and free kicks when we the masters of free kicks, not some of the boring nonsense you see now. I bet those who watched him can still see him gliding across the Turf Moor pitch Pure Class
Re: £300,000 Betrayal of Martin Dobson
I remember seeing a Trevor Steven interview when he was still at Burnley and they asked him about the player that influenced him. He said Martin Dobson.
