DAZN
Had half a mind to watch Chelsea in the Club World Cup until I relaised it's on a channel I don't have - DAZN.

Not that I'm suspicious about anything that's free, or anything..

Re: DAZN
I've subscribed to DAZN for a few years and I can't bring myself to use the name "Da Zone", it sounds like a bunch of rappers or something like that

Re: DAZN
I subscribe to DAZN, predominantly for the boxing coverage (nearly always a fight being screened on a Saturday night) and like you, I cannot bear to use the name DaZone. As a 48-year old Father of a 17 and a 14 year old, if I so much as use anything approaching a phrase that frames me as trying to be 'down with the kids' I'm shot down in a hail of shouts of 'Boomer', 'Sad Old Man' and 'What kind of fresh hell was that?!?!' from those two and this falls entirely into that category for me!!!!!!!!exilecanada wrote: ↑Tue Jul 08, 2025 9:13 pmI've subscribed to DAZN for a few years and I can't bring myself to use the name "Da Zone", it sounds like a bunch of rappers or something like that![]()
I say the name as it's written. I believe it's British owned.

Give 'em a clip around the ear and tell them you're Gen X, not Boomer.Cheshireclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jul 09, 2025 8:27 amAs a 48-year old Father of a 17 and a 14 year old, if I so much as use anything approaching a phrase that frames me as trying to be 'down with the kids' I'm shot down in a hail of shouts of 'Boomer', 'Sad Old Man' and 'What kind of fresh hell was that?!?!' from those two and this falls entirely into that category for me!!!!!!!!

Re: DAZN
I eventually had it explained to me by one of the youngsters in the office that calling me a Boomer is even more insulting that I thought it was precisely because as you say, I'm not that generation! Ironically, they then proceeded to tell me that proved their point and I'm back at square one.Clovius Boofus wrote: ↑Wed Jul 09, 2025 8:40 amGive 'em a clip around the ear and tell them you're Gen X, not Boomer.
The latest venture is calling me 'mate', 'Bro (bruh, for some reason)' or 'fam'. 'Please can I have £75 for my driving lesson bruh' was today's request. I'm chilled enough to find it all funny and laugh along with them, they're great kids to be fair, but I dread to think what my old man would have said if I'd have addressed him as 'Bro' back in the day!

Re: DAZN
My older brother sometimes calls me 'bro' in his text messages. It grinds my gears. He's in his 60s btw.Cheshireclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jul 09, 2025 9:11 am

Re: DAZN
DAZN used to have all Premier league games here in Japan up until about 3 or 4 years ago and was a good company. Now it has some championship games. I subscribed for the final month of last season, but when I tried to cancel my subscription I was forced to chat with an AI assistant who repeatedly asked are you sure? etc to the point of it being really annoying and difficult to resolve. After finally cancelling they charged me more than expected too, stating some backdated payment which was caused by their reluctance to allow simple online cancellation. I won't go near it again no matter what they are offering.
I can now get every Premier League game and watch it when I choose, or just highlights, for around 12 pounds a month.
