Harsh on Palace given Lyon’s finances.
Forest complaints win the day again. I see they have also complained about Morgan Gibbs-White’s move to Spurs too.

On the plus side it will give all the Palace ultras something to do over the school summer holidays. I'm sure they'll make some great banners about it all.

I’d spotted the latest Forest stunt. It won’t get them anywhere though I suspect. If Spurs want MGW and he wants to go then it will happen.

Re: Palace demoted
Lyon finished higher in their league so it’s right they get the place. Multi club ownership should be banned so it’s tough tits that palace have fallen foul of it, about time someone did.

Re: Palace demoted
It's got nothing at all to do with who finished where. According to Palace the contract they had with Textor proved they haven't broken the rules. The rule states that you only break it if the person involved in the multi club has influence, according to Palace the contract with Textor was 43%* and he had no controlling influence - which at 43% he clearly couldn't - that's Parish.quoonbeatz wrote: ↑Fri Jul 11, 2025 4:59 pmLyon finished higher in their league so it’s right they get the place. It'll be interesting to see where this goes
* I think it was 43, don't remember the exact number

I am sure I read that they can appeal and this could go on for another couple of weeks.

Re: Palace demoted
Pretty sure Lyon got the europa place over palace because they finished higher. They’re still in Europe so they should stop moaning. It’s their own fault for not meeting the deadline for telling UEFA the situation.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Fri Jul 11, 2025 5:18 pmIt's got nothing at all to do with who finished where. I read that as the National Conference. Pity it isn't.

Re: Palace demoted
As I said on another thread , if they did it with Droghead in Ireland they have to do it with Palace .
If the same happened with us I still would agree .

Re: Palace demoted
The whole thing stinks, they should either both play, which could lead to fixing, or ban them both, preferred choice, just to end this multi club ownership.
Re: Palace demoted
How does that work other than allowing something to happen and then following it down the line with a subjective legal ruling. Football authorities just look Mickey Mouse as per. Do us all a favour and put into force what you really want to happen if this is such a problem.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Fri Jul 11, 2025 4:55 pmShould have kicked both of them out.

Re: Palace demoted
Talksport made a very valid point last night. Let’s say Chelsea have underperformed and nothing to play for come the end of January. (Or even if not). And Strasbourg are through to later stages of Europe or at the top of league une. There’s literally nothing to stop them loaning or giving a star player to Strasbourg at a favourable rate to try and improve their chances.

Re: Palace demoted
Not having had any interest previously in the story, I was surprised how calmly people were reacting to a relegation of four divisions.

It would have been more interesting if they had taken up 20th position in this season's competition.dougcollins wrote: ↑Fri Jul 11, 2025 7:05 pmNot having had any interest previously in the story, I was surprised how calmly people were reacting to a relegation of four divisions.

If he has 43% then clearly he has "influence".Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Fri Jul 11, 2025 5:18 pmIt's got nothing at all to do with who finished where. If it meant a controlling interest, then it would have said that.

Good for us who hate multi club ownership but I feel sorry for the Palace fans.
Re: Palace demoted
What happens if us and Espanyol both qualified who would lose out?

Re: Palace demoted
anyone that thinks Palace are fair game should actually bother to listen to the interview above
Re: Palace demoted
Textor doesn't have any influence at all because he has sold his shares. The point UEFA are making is that he hadn't sold his shares as at 1st March 2025.
The rule isn't that two clubs in the same competition can't be owned by the same person; it's that they couldn't have been owned by the same person 6 months before the competition start.
It would be the same for Burnley if we win the FA Cup next year. If we win our 4th round match, then he needs to put either ours or Espanyol's shares into a blind trust, or else we're potentially stuffed.

Watch the interview I just posted, Parish is spot on especially about Marinakis putting his shares in a blind trust and the timing of thatdsr wrote: ↑Sat Jul 12, 2025 12:28 amTextor doesn't have any influence at all because he has sold his shares.
