There will be games going on at Burnley CC during August, September, April and May, so it's impossible for it to be away fans only.

Is there a chance that away fans exit via the cricket club side of the fence and home supporters via the main part of Ormerod Yard?

It would mean altering the fencing and probably making it so you can't see through the main fence on Ormerod Yard to avoid confrontation but surely there is a solution to this.

When away fans get to the exit onto Belvedere Road they are funnelled down the pavement to the left and home supporters to the other side of the road.

Basically, I am asking the police to do their job. If we can manage to police an East Lancs derby with virtually no issues then surely this can be sorted.

Weird there's no communication about this - well, it should be weird but not surprising maybe for us.

I don't really get this concern about needing such a separation with away fans after the game, feels a bit overblown that. Pretty much every ground you go to, you spill out of the away end straight into mingling with home fans. It's not the 80s.

You're right, most grounds you're mixed as soon as you leave the exit gates. Maybe that's what we will do

Not sure it's a great idea, but certainly not beyond the realms of possibility

Absolutely. There aren't many away ends in the country that treat fans with the same herded cattle mentality that's being proposed in this thread. Millwall possibly, but the vast majority you're mingling with home fans right up to your turnstile, and nothing bad happens.

I was discussing this last night with someone - I travel to away games and just wander round the place and mingle with home fans. It's how it should be too.

My understanding is that the cricket club isn't going to be away fans only.
It simply can't be - they have members and they have people going to cricket matches. There will, for example, be a game on when we play Lazio. It's a second team game but there's a game on and I am sure there will be other clashes prior to the cricket season ending.

I think it’s more about Premier League regs. Separate facilities for female officials and under 18 players.
Really? So new changing rooms for the men?

It would make a lot of sense though.

Yes, for anything other than the Rovers match, we only see basic separation of the away fans. That in itself is because of the coaches queued on HPW. Once the rest of the visiting fans have got past the line of coaches (and usually a handful of police) then it's pretty much mixed all the way into town. And in most cases (in my experience) trouble-free.

By moving the tunnel, the home changing room will now be closer to the tunnel. Previously the away team have been closer .

Understand that, but if we need seperate facilities for male/females, presumably that means new facilities being commissioned?

Even mixed after the game at Ewood, we walked back to the car within a lot of home fans.

If this goes ahead it is really poor from the club to be moving fans without being told first.

The next time we play Blackburn will be interesting to see the levels of panic from the police with them being so close to the Longside lower.

This should also highlight the issue when we repeatedly see on here people basically saying we should force the cricket club to relocate as a whole and be perfectly fine in saying so.
I’m thinking that they’ll likely segregate between the CFS and JHL too

There's already a segregation gap where the tunnel is/was.

I think he means outside the ground.

I think they will need to get rid of about 200 cars that park near the fanzone, if they want another 5/6000 home fans going past the clubshop.

Seems like they are doing work in the cricketfield. Plumbing vans and electric vans outside the ‘away entrance’ this morning on my way to work. Although the ‘visiting fans’ sign was still up ;)

A small segregation in regards to players and staff & officials coming out of the tunnel
But it may be bigger with opposing fans corner to corner, not quite like the Bob Lorders in the JHL that corner.
If there’s any trouble they may empty 2 more blocks

Has anyone thought that they could be doing all the work and planning on moving the fans next year, that's why they haven't told anyone?

Could it be possible that they're thinking of adding another corner stand? You wouldn't get many seats in there but you could get a decent sized hospitality lounge.

You would think someone would pop down to the Turf and ask one of the workers what's going on ?
Sure some of them would be Clarets too .

For starters
Re-siting of tunnel
Improvements to away dressing room
Installing more safe standing
Swooping over home and away fans
Plus some other work in the corner of the BL and CF

A corner stand to attach the CF and Longside in some manner would really improve the atmosphere I think if it could be boxed in effectively. I’m sure the more likely scenario is that whatever such a stand could be it would predominantly focus on corporates.

I like the idea of filling in corners generally but designing something that fits the CFS seems short termist, given it will need to be replaced sooner rather than later. Also, it works less well if the away fans are moving to that side of the CFS - just creates more segregation issues.

Unless they are numbering the blocks & seat numbers from the BL end, so you will still be sat in the “same seat”

That's exactly the way I'd do it, just mirror everything, block numbers, seat numbers etc

As far as the contract with the club is concerned you're probably sat in the "same seat"

So long as they don't sell tickets in the home side of CFS other than ST holders. Surely the safety officer wouldn't allow that, given previous issues with Everton etc. It would be catastrophic if any away fans managed to get in there.

An away only corporate area with seats also in that same area would solve the away fans in home corporate areas and then home seats
Is there a enough room for that on the Longside side?
Maybe you'd have to take part of the side of the cricket field stand down, and hope the Roof doesn't Collapse!

I know you have better connections with the club than many Peter, certainly the TO, so take what you have said above re what's going on as typed.

I don't suppose anyone has said why they aren't communicating these changes with us, as they seem relatively significant? It just feels a bit like they are treating us with some disdain. The reasons as why they are making changes, would go along way to helping understand why the changes are being made.

Catastrophic is a bit strong don't you think?
Time will tell on that one. But it is poor, if we are putting the sale of a few extra tickets before fan safety.

Here’s what the FAB notes said on 23rd April.

This ties in with a lot of what Tony and Leisure have said on here, but what would be surprising to me is that they would presumably have known at this point about the need to move fans, and surely would’ve consulted the FAB beforehand?

I still cannot see any immediate need to move the fans around just because we’ve had to change the tunnel location or refit the away dressing rooms.

Maybe that they are uncertain at the minute as to just when the changes will be implemented ie before the Sunderland game or later and want to be certain before announcing it.

The FAB has been consulted. There are bigger plans in the offing in addition to just moving the tunnel and fans around.
