If you think things are normal fair enough I politely disagree. Have a good day.

1 66 day break through injury in 5 seasons doesn't seem bad to me.

Were we planning to move him on Tony?
I presume he means because he's absolutely one of the best players we have at the club.

Hopefully nothing too long. Surgery doesn't always mean end of the world stuff

I presume its knee/ACL nature of injury ??, which might be the best part of this season

Terrible news. I mainly expected him to move on and use the funds elsewhere but hoped Parker would find a place for him in our team.

If not too bad, I really hope we get to see him second half of the season.

Makes Parker’s comments yesterday seem a bit strange about coming through the friendly unscathed a bit strange though. Must’ve just meant that game.

It would be amusing to see your attempt at explaining why any injury to Amdouni now ought to have been picked up in his medical two years ago.
As I've already said it's not 1 in isolation but please keep focusing on this as it will assist in detracting.

Either option is bad news, good player out for a while = can’t use him or sell him and use the cash .

Not an orthopaedic surgeon but it is obvious that the game is a lot faster than 30 years ago and faster again than 60 yrs ago
Pitches and the ball are lighter and players move quicker and at times must slow down quicker which must put more strain on knee ligaments and tendons to name one joint
Also (again no knowledge) but if we use steroid injections into the knee more than yesteryear then that will increase risks of later cruciate and other damage from acceleration deceleration injuries
We have all seen cruciate ruptures on the Turf from innocuous injuries, SAM Vokes and even more remarkable Danny Coyne

Why wouldn't people focus on Amdouni when you're suggesting any injury he has suffered now should've been picked up two years ago through the medical. You referred specifically to and focused on Amdouni. It's idiotic.

I wouldn’t take Tony’s post as confirmation necessarily, but it does suggest there is a reasonably strong source behind the rumour.

I reckon if he knows someone who can pick up ligament, muscle, or impact injuries 2 years ahead of time he should start drafting a letter to the government as there will be some serious money to be made. First man on earth.

OK, let's look at the countless other examples then. Give us an example of what you're talking about? Or is it not allowed to talk specifics/individual cases?

So which injuries do you believe should have been picked up at the medical, and not wishing to make it too difficult for you, I will accept an answer of just one.

Jakub is spot on

Why can’t we sign players who are never going to get injured ?

We are clearly not doing the medicals correctly or enough due diligence.

Our injury statistics are clear evidence of that - even though factually they are not clear evidence that doesn’t really matter because we are definitely getting more injuries than any other club (even though we might not actually be)

Though our injury statistics do also include Tresor and officially speaking given he’s made the whole thing up we should have another category for him - FINJURIES (fake injuries)

Please let the next 4 weeks go quickly….please

About the only slipshod assessment which meant we bought a pup was John Bonds signing of Gallagher I think from WHU who had shocking knees and maybe the Striker signed by Cotts (got a hat trick against Barnsley from memory)
Both looked and played like they would be on PIPs today

It was a general comment which people took literally. I've yet to be quoted where my comment specifically centred amdouni. I do think generally there's an issue with recurring injuries in the squad stemming from a lack of recruitment research without specifying any said individuals.

Gifton Noel Williams

When we signed Joe Gallagher I was working behind the bar at the Sparrow pub near Omerod Road. When new players signed they often stopped in the Sparrow until they found a house. I was working on the evening Joe Gallagher signed and 100% he was limping !! I think we signed someone else at the same time as he was also stopping there - Alan Taylor the ex West Ham player rings a bell but I might be wrong

Totally irrelevant though to your point that if Amdouni is currently injured it should've been picked up through his medical...two years ago.

We have had massive injury problems over the last few years? ********. No more than anyone else.
To some extent the only argument that can be made is that we've trended smaller and less physical. "Benson is made out of glass" is a fair comment. Otherwise, it is false. Our injury record is very average. We've had players like Ramsey (no previous injury record) do his knee. How would a medical 6 months prior pick that up? Same with whatever issue Amdouni has (Only two years prior).
Sounds like someone has an axe to grind or just trying to have a hot take. Either way it's ********.

Remember, Jakub likes to deal in facts. Unlike others he doesn’t possess an object, spherical in form and from crystal forged, and he is yet to acquire the ability common to the soothsayer to foresee events which are yet to transpire and ramifications materialise, or some other such bOll0cks.

I thought we did well for injuries last year. Apart from the long term ones - and let's be honest, we don't know how effective Ramsay or Trevor will be anyway yet - we seemed to have our main men available most of the time.

Can't remember Steve, Brownhill, Cullen or Trafford (we can agree our best players?) missing much at all.

Yeah he had a knee injury in December 2022, had surgery and went back to Villa. Was then loaned to Boro in the January window when he must have passed their medical and resumed playing in February 2023. So are you seriously suggesting we shouldn't have signed him based on those facts?

Yeah he had a knee injury in December 2022, had surgery and went back to Villa. Was then loaned to Boro in the January window when he must have passed their medical and resumed playing in February 2023. So are you seriously suggesting we shouldn't have signed him based on those facts?
& lo & behold if that doesn't ring alarm bells I'm not sure what does. When you have them sort of injuries there is a tendency. I was only correcting the poster who was trying to make it out as if this was the first time.

Clearly wasn't the same kind of injury, one takes 12 months to recover from, the other a month, so pointless comparison.
